Possibly not legal, but when customers feel scammed, it's not much different.11/12/2018 05:25 PMPosted by Xukon11/12/2018 05:13 PMPosted by RistraStep 1: Make MMO
Step 2: Make expac - change infrastructure
Step 3: Repeat step 2 a few times
Step 4: Rework step 1 to fit latest infrastructure
Step 5: Sell product of step 4.
This sets a wild precedent. If companies can release a product. Remove access from said product after a few years due to newer product. Then resell the older product with updates. While not adding any features. We are screwed as a consumer base.
I can guarantee that Blizzard is not having a purchase cost just to avoid the legal complications that this poses.
I don't believe there are any legal issues.
I believe the reason is to keep people subbed.
Take Office 365. If Microsoft shut down access to 365. Upgraded their infrastructure. Add features. Then attempted to resell access only to people that don't want the features.
