Classic beta is just prolonged free advertisement

What scares me is that the level cap is still only level 40 and I’m doubtful they will raise it past 50. That means all the 50-60 leveling zones and the endgame dungeons will probably be full of bugs due to no testing. For those that plan on speedrunning to endgame this will be a problem.

Lol. I don’t think it’s the truth they hate. I think it’s the hyperbole and your version of the “truth”. 75% streamers. Omeglul.
Oh and spam. We don’t like spam round these parts.

Nope. Streamers was just a very small fraction. 50 or so vs a couple thousand nobody’s.

You don’t need 30k players for a beta test. Several hundred would do fine and you can expect 5% to actually report bugs.

Any more would be redundant.

you know blizz goal is to make money right? It’s smart marketing. would you not do the same if your job was to get people hyped about a game? If not you wouldn’t last long in the job.

And by Thanksgiving nobody will care about “Classic WoW.” It will exist, and that’s enough for Blizzard. They will have successfully defended their IP, and all private servers will be offline under threat of legal action.

That is why “Classic” exists, folks.

Please post a constructive thread.

If that were true, they’d be working to keep the hype going longer by sending out weekly beta invites and let everyone know they are doing so. This would keep everyone checking in on the beta on a weekly basis. At this point the hype is dead because there is nothing to look forward to other than August 26th. The more i watch and hype myself up without having beta, the worse i feel about not being in it so i just avoid it for now.

No, it’s our defense against delusional thinking.

Like the OP’s.

The number of streamers to regular players is miniscule at best, stop being bitter that you didn’t get an invite. The vast majority of players just want a free demo and have no interest in focused beta testing

What bugs would be present now that didn’t exist 15 years ago? How do you know the remaining content hasn’t been internally tested to death? How do you know the level cap won’t be raised? We have 2 more months until release and it will be okay.

Less than two months at this point.

Or, he will complain that testers and not streamers should have been in beta the prior 3 months…

Just think about it for a second. What happens when a player reports a bug?
A human being at Blizzard needs to read it, make sure that it wasn’t reported before, test it out and add it to the bug database so that a dev can fix it.
Now, what do you think would happen if you invite 100k players? That’ll be at least 400-500 players reporting the same exact bug. Even if they gave access to the bug database to players, nobody would look it up.
If they wanted testing done, they’d hire some people, train them and pay them to do the testing like any game company does (and what Blizzard surely do as well).

Let’s be honest here, YOU don’t want to test the game, YOU want to play it like all of us. Just be patient and wait until August 26/27th. It’s pretty close now.

No?

Blizzard is working hard to produce the version of the game we want. 99% of the game is exactly how we want it, and people are quibbling about the 1% of the game that people think makes them hardcore.

Most people who want the unarmored mounts wouldn’t get them anyway, because of the amount of no-lifer effort and targeted grinding before the end of the first patch.

Cross Realms Battlegrounds would be nice to be pushed back CP6, or at least CP4, but later in the game people will be crying out for them like they did in Vanilla, to make the queues more bearable for one side of an unbalanced server.

And layering is going to be gone after the first few weeks, and the majority of players won’t even care about it, or be happy they were able to play during the first few weeks.

I think right now, Blizzard is entitled to feel disrespected and abused, and they’d be within their rights to ignore these petty tantrums.
