Just say you have a mage and you farm/boost in ZF/Mara. Remove your ability to tell on yourself and people will be significantly less inclined to believe you buy gold.

Wowhead has crystals at a 3% chance per hit. The probability that you get at least one crystal from a vein is the complement of the probability that get no crystals whatsoever, which is described as follows
chance = 1 - (1 - chance_crystal) ^ hits_per_vein
chance = 1 - (1 - 0.03) ^ 4
chance = 11%
With an 11% chance per vein, and crystals selling for 25g each on Maladath, each vein is worth at least 3g each from just the crystals.
There are 13 Rich Thorium Vein ‘zones’ in Winterspring that will reasonably have one Vein each every 10 minutes or so, so even if you only get half of them with each lap of Winterspring it comes out to an average of 21g a lap, again from just the crystals.
(This probably will be less if you have competition, but I play on a small server and have the timezone advantage of being able to regularly play at 2am server time.)
I haven’t timed how long each lap takes, but even if you had saved absolutely nothing on your way to 60, it’s still an average of 40 laps, given that this is your only source of income.
Again, I haven’t timed it, but it feels like you can get at least 5 laps in an hour, which gives you 8 hours, or 1 and a bit hours a night for a week.
That’s not a crazy level of commitment.

The only way I can see getting quick wealth is AH flipping like you’ve mentioned. But isn’t that risky as hell?
It’s those bank alts that overprice tier 1 boes must be loaded I’ve noticed too.
Gold farming is not as hard as people make it out to be.
On my priest I have epic mount with tailoring healing chest crafted and I currently have 2400 gold.
Herbing is my main money maker as EPL is pretty easy to get Plaguebloom silversage dreamfoil and lotus.
Black Lotus is currently 90-110g on average right now and due to Nightslayer having multiple layers it makes it even more easy to farm especially considering we have SoM spawns and lotus timer.
I could have even more gold if I also had mining since Blue Sapphires are also high in price.
I should also mention that you can do solo jump runs in DM E but last boss requires you to play it very close to perfect with the current gear players have and also use consumes, but you can also just get the herbs and sell kills for the boss that drops the bow that melee want and people advertise selling it for 50g-75g.

Playing with numbers is fun but ive done this math before. You forgot one thing.
Time. Specifically, respawn times.
RTVs have a fifteen minute respawn. If you wanted to get 100 RTVs and then got one RTV every fifteen minutes… fifteen hundred minutes of time invested. Thats twenty five hours of time invested if you got an RTV every fifteen minutes.
For, statistically, 3 crystals. At your own price of 25g a crystal thats 75g per 100 RTVs.
75g per 25 hours of time investment. If you maintained that level of farm time and stayed statistically consistent at 3 crystals per 100 RTVs, thats 250 hours for 750g worth of crystals. Plus four more crystals at 25 per 3 a hit(and 8.3 for the extra as 25/3 = 8.3) … 333 hours to, statistically, make a thousand gold off just crystals.
333/24=13.875 days worth of time spent doing nothing but running RTV ROUTES.

If your layer is really that bad just layer hop until you find a decent one, you can also just float around Plaguewoods in north EPL which is where I normally get my Lotus at.

ive been on a lotus buying strike. I refuse to buy until i know for certain this is the new normal, and not a temporary fomo peak.
It’s not one node every 15 minutes, there are designated zones that will have a vein spawn in them every 15 minutes.
I literally already covered this. Nodes respawn faster than you can get to them, you get way more than one node every 15 minutes.
Congrats, you can buy two flasks and a stack of bread.
This isnt the gotcha you think it is. I was being generous. The reality is much, much worse.
