Should Blizzard takes some notes from Guild Wars 2 and do more of a horizontal progression.
I cant help but feel like horizontal progression would be the way to go for Classic+. I feel like most people are in the same boat for not wanting any level cap increase as Classic+ progresses.
There is no level cap increase, no gear treadmill. You just hop in and carry on from where you left off last time. Your gear is still relevant, everything you have acquired is still in the same spot progression wise. Its extremely alt friendly, very easy to take breaks and come back later.
Basically for those of you who have never played Guild Wars 2 instead of increasing the level cap with each content update they bring out new maps(lots of Open World content), masteries, instanced pve(raids, strikes, fractals).
Along with the new content they introduce new Masteries. These masteries are tied to the new content that comes out. Once you level these masteries they increase your abilities( not more damage or anything, more just increasing your rewards in the new content). Even with the path of fire expansion all the masteries were just to make your mounts feel better and do more things. And all of the masteries are account wide. So your really just leveling up your account which helps make the game very alt friendly.
So even though there is no level cap increase or gear treadmill there is still tonns of things to do when new content come out.
I personally feel like classic plus should be designed with the horizontal progression system in mind and not the old staple vertical system.
