yet another thing to use to avoid stormbolt’s 3 business day travel time.

Or literally anything else that you want to.

No I can still axe toss it and ruin the rogues day. And can hit with physical damage right away.

oh wait maybe im thinkin of that one honor talent

Yeah they removed that one. Veil of Midnight.

This isn’t a bug, it’s intended. Back in Legion rogues were using cloak to soak multiple instances of floor swirlies on gul’dan. So they changed cloak to a brief one second immunity and after that its an increased chance to take magic damage.

“Provides a brief moment of magical immunity, instantly removing all harmful spell effects. The cloak lingers causing you to resist harmful spells for 5 s.”

I’ve died right through it in pvp and pve after second 3 a few times since the change.

BTW dk can asphix right through it after a second as well.

I assume you mean reduced chance? So it’s basically a magic darkness?

It doesn’t work this way for any other spells or abilities in pvp as far as I know. And it’s not a chance to miss anything vs ret, it just misses at first and then every damaging attack hits for holy damage after that.

The DK Stun is physical, but a spell. So I guess that’s why, but yeah that’s not super intuitive. Thanks for the info.

Still waiting some nerf on Elemental S

Yes, you’ll have a better than 50% chance of applying magic effects after 3s. The whole point was to have rogues get one shot soaking multiple swirilies on gul’dan.

I don’t think this is correct, at least not in pvp. In my testing it’s not working the way you described. I have never seen it happen from either the rogue or any caster either.

However, all melee attacks that do magic damage do seem to work the same way as the paladin does. Lava Lash, Froststrike, etc all still hit through cloak after the first second. Asphyxiate which is on the physical school will hit too.

Certain mechanics in dungeons and raids may work differently, and likely have reduced or no chance to resist. Warlocks, their imps, their wild imps, and their demonic tyrant all have no chance to hit with spells dealing magic damage and cannot apply magic effects or land a fear throughout the cloak duration in my testing. Meanwhile melee attacks that deal magic damage will all hit every single time through cloak after the first second.

Thanks for discussing this and driving further testing.

Thanks for clearing that up, seems the team made some undocumented changes lol.
