Do you not understand they are redesigning the way some specs play? That is not what “class tuning” means. Those are the drastic type of changes you make in .0 betas or between seasons, not during.
yeah i do basic abilities to keep ourselves alive in pve and pvp that we have had for expansions take a ton of our new talent tree to get back so i can keep my old toolkit.
When the changes(redesigns aside) are -40% here, -70% there, -50% duration here and there, this isn’t “getting things sorted.” This is just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.
I mean, they are the ones that launched it so out of whack to where such huge nerfs have been needed. So believing they aren’t about to screw everything up in the middle of the season sounds very optimistic.
Why is it that the development team is intent on making sure DH sits in the lower third of all specs in game for PvE content? Its gotten to the point where multiple specs on 1 class sit above DH now.
I know everyone complains about them in PvP but what about those of us who just want to do PvE content and be competitive for top damage in raid and M+? With every set of changes DH falls further and further on the logs and you continue to do more.
Still hoping for Paladin class tree rework, at least a medium sized one. Lots of talents in there that are just dead (literally, they do nothing) and some that are very frustrating (dusk and Dawn).
The class tree has 1 single talent that touches on our utility, and it is 1 minute off of a 5 minute cooldown (bop) which is so niche it is basically useless. Nothing for freedom or bubble. We take 3 talent points for a worse version of SL divine steed. It’s really just a mess of a tree, would love to see it get some love. It’s been the biggest complaint amongst paladins since alpha.
Appreciate seeing buffs instead of nerfs. Might wanna buff resto shamans though, I feel bad for them.
Have you peeped logs lately? Fire is ahead of both arcane and evoker in 95th percentile in mythic. Might be that fire just scales better with gear, and overbuffing for a few undergeared people is just gonna make the spec a disgusting beast once again.
I guess Evoker’s not allowed to be better than any mage specs? What a strange take.
Unlike the fire mages/frost mages, they’re unable to just spec Arcane.
You have no clue how strong demo warlock is in pvp, if you saying things like that xd
Can they hire some devs that actually plays the damn game, wtf is this
IMO, this is purely an opinion and speculative. However, I am pretty sure the Double Tap removal is a pure and only response to PvP burst and scaling looking later into the expansion. So instead of figuring out how to fine tune it for PvP, they are choosing to just straight up delete it.
Disappointed april’s fool came early
Welp… Looks like I’ll be ditching windwalker for pvp this season/xpac.
I rerolled off Shaman after the first class tuning patch weeks ago because it was obvious Blizzard had no idea what they were doing with Resto Shamans.
Now I feel vindicated every class tuning patch that forgets about R shaman.
Keep proving me right Blizzard.
3% is 3%. We are so bad that any increase is much needed. Just hope the survivability changes they think of are worth the wait.
Nice
Now maybe we can have butchery consume poison stacks, and bigger mongoose fury windows, and we’ll be heading in a tasty direction
Pretty decent changes, but still more are needed.
Fire Mage:
- Still needs damage buffs, both ST and AoE.
- Living Bomb needs much more buffs, it still does less damage against small number of targets than spammable Arcane Explosion.
- Conflagration, Molten Skyfall choice node and other undertuned / underutilized talents need a buff or redesign as well.
- As Blazing Soul is gone, PVP nerf to Blazing Barrier is no longer warranted and could be removed. Similar reasoning applies to Tempest Barrier and Diverted Energy PVP nerfs - their effects are already much weaker than when they were conduits, so additional PVP nerfs to them are no longer warranted.
- Dragon’s Breath still has its PVP duration reduction, but as PVP trinket set reduces it even more, its combo with following casted CC now requires much more Haste than before. This leads to making Haste too important for PVP Mages and makes other non-Versatility secondary stats hardly competitive. Please consider reverting this nerf, especially since Dragon’s Breath cooldown was increased as well.
- Glass Cannon PVP talent needs a buff or redesign, currently its bonus is too low for both the penalty it provides and the cost of PVP talent slot.
- Flamecannon PVP talent’s duration should be reverted to 5 seconds, with 3 seconds duration it is often removed by even accidental movement in wrong moment and is too restrictive.
Frost Mage:
- Still needs damage buffs.
- Ray of Frost damage buff is welcomed (should also track its performance after this buff), but it also has other issues that should be addressed:
a) Its cooldown desynhronizes with literally any other Frost CD. It should be 45-60 seconds to make them more aligned.
b) It does not trigger Icy Propulsion, even though it definitely should, as it is a single-target damaging ability that can crit.
c) Its last tick alongside second charge of Fingers of Frost it can provide are removed by PVP trinket CC duration reduction and that should not be the case, as it is mostly a snare ability and not a CC that should get reduced. Please fix that.
d) Even though Ray of Frost can be channeled while moving with Ice Floes charge, a preferable way would be to have it channeled while moving baseline (like Lightning Lasso). This would make it more attractive for Frost Mages in PVE as “can do damage while moving” ability. - Glacial Spike damage buff and Mastery PVP nerf are decent, but it also has several issues as well:
a) It consuming Icicles makes it provide much less Fingers of Frost procs from Flash Freeze talent than normal rotation (as this talent has 5% chance to proc FoF per Icicle hit). Glacial Spike hit should accordingly have 25% chance to proc FoF with this talent taken (which is similar to five 5% chance procs from normal Icicles).
b) While it provides freeze effect against normal targets to follow with shattered Ice Lance, it does not give such benefit against CC immune targets like bosses and against them its value is diminished. It should deal additional X% damage against CC immune targets instead. - Ebonbolt needs buffs as well. It was not competitive with its alternative choice Frozen Touch for entirety of Shadowlands and it is still not competitive. Possible way to buff it is to reduce its cast time to 2 seconds, CD to 30 seconds (so that it is aligned with most other Frost CDs, which have 30/60s CD) and if needed also buff its damage.
- Ice Nova root duration is often too short to utilize its shatter, as because of GCD and travel time Ice Lance can reach target when Ice Nova already expires. It should be increased to at least 3 seconds to address that.
- Snowstorm is both too RNG and takes too long to build up, creating situations like when it is charged up, the pack is aready dead. It also has hidden duration, so that it often cannot even be kept to use on the next pack. It should have higher chance to proc (50-100%), preferably less stacks with higher bonus number (for example, 20 stacks with 15/30% damage buff instead of current 30 stacks with 10/20% buff) and longer / unlimited duration (like Arcane Harmony stacks) to address these issues.
- Frost AoE rotation should have a way to scale Ice Lance damage when attacking 3+ targets or have a separate spammable ability to be utilized against larger packs instead of it, so that its AoE rotation would entirely scale based on number of targets (as currently its Ice Lance part does not scale at 3+ targets at all).
- Water Elemental is not competitive with Lonely Winter and could use some buffs.
- Flurry’s snare does not remove Frostbolt snare, but for some reason removes Slow snare. This is most likely a bug and should be addressed.
- Snowdrift’s stun building effect should not be removed by root break effects (which have nothing to do with stuns) and its stun should not be reflectable (as AoE abilities are usually not reflectable and it can be counterplayed by moving out of its zone anyway).
- Concentrated Coolness Frozen Orb placement effect is massive QoL and should not be gated behind PVP only. Please consider making it either baseline or putting it somewhere in Frost Mage tree, for example attached to Everlasting Frost node.
Something like that.
nerfing 1 or 2 of these would be fair, nerfing all 3 is overkill.
I’ve had all of my toons for a while, it’s just I didn’t play alts much in SL. I decided to play my alts in DF, and their specs uh, have been accumulating some weird karma. I don’t have the energy or attention span to FotM reroll, if that’s what you mean lol.
Yeah outlaw was deserving of a nerf, but there were a lot of other specs equally deserving and even more deserving buffs.
calling it a minigame wasnt exactly an apt definition but saying “just as popular for the entire span of wow” is pushing it i think.
it’s really not the huge deal it once was.
