What I find interesting about this is that any spec that’s sole purpose is to buff stuff is gonna be too strong in the current iteration of the game. No other spec does that to any insane degree. Blizz should have known this from the beginning. The game wasn’t designed for that level of buffing from a spec. This puts Augmentation in a tough spot, since it’s the ONLY spec that does it. In my opinion, Blizz should have added a couple buff specs and designed around that. As it stands, Augmentation is an outlier in the game and OF COURSE raiders/dungeon runners will want them in their groups. We’ve known since the old days that buffs are highly sought after and always have been. Which is how/why we’ve lost so many buffs over the years.
All of that said, I’m in the camp of let the buffs flow. It’s an interesting add to the game and I’d like to see more of it with new specs and a new role of “supporter” added. I hope that Blizz doesn’t nuke Augmentation and instead adds more support specs. Perhaps now would be a good time to add Bard or something to the game in the next expansion.
Pretty comprehensive list, just want to make a few comments as an SP running these keys. I also wrote out a list of ways to fix these things further up.
This isn’t really true, at least this week. Routing for this dungeon in higher keys doesn’t use mind soothe at all.
The giant magic dot is just a healer dispel, MD isn’t needed for that. It’s strong for the skeleton shields but most good routes just drag those mobs around until they die to cleave however long that takes because they don’t do anything. Last boss is arguable again as you only need it to cover the overlaps where the sentry is preoccupied with adds and you can play around that, though it’s not comfortable. I don’t disagree that MD is strong though.
You can start the pull by CCing one which staggers them enough to the point where a healer can solo dispel them. MD is very good again though.
When we see flat 10% nerfs across the board to a spec (fire mage in this case) it is a serious red flag that the devs have no clue what they are doing. It displays a complete lack of nuance. They just pick a number and copy paste. And I’m pretty sure it’s the synergies between classes that is the problem in M+, not baseline damage values.
I find it 100% hilarious, they make this announcement on a Friday, knowing full well they would get backlash, because no one is gonna read this until Monday XD
I literally just started working on my mage and went fire cause it was fun, now I have to drop it after playing for a week and it getting nerfed into oblivion. I main ret pally too and what are these “buffs”? Consecration DS and wake? usually I will take what I can get but even that is butt water with these buffs. How about making crusading strikes since that’s the dominant build to give a HP every auto attack?
My only regret is I didn’t have a Hpaly leveled, geared and ready to go with the initial buffs to benefit from the free rating and or titles.
If you look at the rankings on each realm, on the Wow website, Hpaly has a 3 key lead over all other healers. I struggle healing on rot fights on my Rshaman at 20. I also have no mass healing options for players with bad mechanics. Both Hpaly can handle.
I get it that it’s not fun to be nerfed. But at least Hpaly talents and tuning has been looked at this expansion.
Yeah it turns out to be a massive 3% buff which will surely save us from being a completely dead spec. Unironically the auto attack damage was probably more of a buff than the ability damage since Outlaw isn’t allowed to scale
I logged into wow for the first time in many years and saw that ret has 3% dmg aura.
I should be laughing under the table. the thing that programs such nonsense must be troll lvl 100!
Blizzard will make sure a new class is tops next season. Get people to reroll and sub for a few more months. All of this has nothing to do with balancing. That’s obvious.
