Wouldn’t two be there regardless of the changes? They nerfed Arcane Mage and left Fire Mage alone (iirc) so instead of two specs all specs are up there.

yeah the balance is pretty great tbh, all DPS specs being relatively close is a v nice change from previous expansions

Funnily to some point it makes sense that multiple specs of the same class are close as if you want people to play more what they want this does let them without much penalty. And to be fair balance in term of % difference is pretty good. There’s some minor changes to do and the only thing that might be major that could be done is nerfing warrior banner/shaman stormlash totem has that seem to have the bigger effect on kill timers at least for 25m where they can be stacked for bigger advantages.

Eitherway PvE and PvP balance is pretty bad, you have distinct underperformers in both and it shows.

Uh, no, they buffed the hell out of fire. And they buffed arcane massively too, so massively that it’s still top after being toned down. I would love for my class to get a fraction of the treatment mages got.

    • Arcane Blast’s damage increase from patch 5.5.0 decreased to 15% (was 29%).
  • Frost
    • Damage and Healing of Frostbolt increased by 15%.
    • Damage of Frostfire Bolt increased by 15%.
    • Damage of Ice Lance increased by 15%.
      • This also increases the damage output of Mastery: Icicles, and the Icy Veins versions of Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Ice Lance.

It buffed Frost and nerfed arcane with nothing being done to Fire, if there was another round of buffs they did then I missed it.

They buffed both Arcane and Fire before MoP Classic released. It’s around 30% for both specs, Fire a bit more. They were expected to be bottom specs during early and mid T14, while being playable at the end of T14 with 5.4.8 balancing (take wcl chart, remove 20% on both specs and you have a rough estimation on how they should have performed).
