I have an alt who is rank 10 in her current guild, the problem is I’m the only player in that guild who has been on in over a year. I understand that a rank 10 character is ineligible to claim the guild under current guidelines, but isn’t there some sort of work around for situations like this?
Unfortunately, no. The system is setup so that only rank 3 and higher can dethrone the guild leader. Blizz will not step in to bypass the system. You can always find another guild or even start one of your own

Simply put, Marniia, no.
The entire point of the restrictions on who can use the dethrone option is to allow the Guild Leader some control on who can dethrone or if it is even possible to dethrone. Sorry.
