Chronicles 4 Spoiler Thread

On the Teldrassil thing.

Is it explained how they did it? Mechanically speaking, how their catapults reached teldrassil from sea shore and how some pebbles (in comparison) made teldrassil burn?

BFA’s faction conflict and the War of Thorns pre-patch that preceded it was an absolute disaster. I could go on and on about how Teldrassil shouldn’t have burned down and how the War of Thorns should not have happened.

And yet it happened and clearly Blizzard will not retcon it. Maybe now the Horde will now actually change for the better. Heck, glad that whole warchief system is long gone.

I also read something about the “makgora in nagrand”

They are basically forcing "thrall did nothing wrong s-s-stop saying he cheated and it was unfair :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Book is basically a walking retcon, what a waste of paper

I haven’t read it yet, but the Horde in game account says they used Shamans and wind to help the fire burn hotter and longer.

Tbf, I’m kinda torn on it.

It is a tragedy, one that really has no precedent story wise and having it happen again will be just as bad, it also should not really work, like, the Horde after fighting against Garrosh would just submit to these orders? And again, mechanically it doesnt make sense, unless they had some uber shamans.

On the other, I do actually like most of the war campaign, and what developed from there. The night warrior was also a cool development and Tyrande got a sick model. And BFA is where i started wow for real, and I really liked playing in it.

I think with Bel’ameth now, most of the problems introduced with the WOt have been more or less addressed.

Yeah, It happened and I’m fully aware Blizzard’s not retconning it, you don’t need to tell me this, (not like they could and/or would without a full timeline reset to the end of Legion.) And yes, something extremely iconic to the Horde was removed because getting rid of Sylvanas, killing Saurfang and getting rid of Nathanos Blightcaller wasn’t enough. What an absolute joke of an expansion. Think the only good thing that I can think of for the Horde that happened in it was Gazlowe being made the goblin racial leader.

The book does address the Night elves reclaiming Darkshore but I haven’t read it yet.

The three architects/primary actors in the night elven genocide getting deal with. I say good.

Which I am pretty sure has been alluded to before as well. So this reinforces it, personally I would have preferred if the used Azerite to power up the catapults.

My problem with Bel’ameth is that as far as I’m concerned, its narratively pointless. Sure, the Night Elves have a tree but Hyjal, Moonglade or retaking Dire Maul (Eldre’Thalas) was right there.

But that has always been the case no? We never had anyone state Thrall cheated in the mak’ghora.

I dunno Zerde, re-read Day of the Dragon and Tides of War if you disagree.

Sure, just ignore that all three were written out-of-character in order to shoehorn one of the worst plots if not the worst plot in the MMORPG’s history.

Or you could tell me which part of those two you are referring to. Because Anestarian was 1) dead in Tides of War 2) never mention exiling the high elves who didn’t follow his attempt at becoming more isolationist(because it would mean he would have to exile his own son)

It is the symbolism.

Just building a new city or populating one area would keep them at a relative net loss.

The tree represents the salvation of kaldorei souls, the renew of their society, and it is also a really neat area that somehow unites all forms and shapes of night elves, highborne mages, druids, priestesses, demon hunters, undeads and wardens.

Written realistically and with respect to prior development, Saurfang alone would have told Sylvanas to eat bhit with an S the second she proposed the War of Thorns, refusing to wage the war for her. The only ‘realistic’ way for the Horde to do the War of Thorns as it did would have been Sylvanas outright mind-controlling everyone that she needed to in order for her to pull it off, and even then they should have overthrown her and appointed quite literally anyone else after she had burnt the tree.

…Sylvanas was literally planning on genociding the Gilneans while defying Garrosh of all people who didn’t want her to use the plague. If Garrosh is your voice of reason then you know your morals are screwed.

Kael’thas disagreed with his father and left on his own accord. Not everone in Silvermoon aggreed in the Conclave of Silvermoon’s decision to become more isolationist but they were the ruling goverment at the time not the King. Anesterian died in the 3rd War not the second, he was killed by Arthas defending the Sunwell.

Honestly, I buy the reason for the start of the war.

Genn did an unprovoked attack on the Horde in stormheim.

The plan of capturing the tree and dissolving the alliance as a faction was a strong one.

Sylvanas was literally planning on genociding the Gilneans? No. Garrosh -ORDERED- her to attack Gilneas first in such a way that it’d cause massive Forsaken losses because he had no value for them as a people.
