So, as of approximately 2 weeks ago I returned to WoW on a completely fresh account with no previous characters at level 60. I was able to access Chromie Timewalking as soon as I had completed Exile’s Reach on the character I’m using to make this post. Unfortunately, I don’t know if it’s a bug or if there’s outdated information going around. Guides don’t seem to believe me when I say I’ve accessed Chromie Timewalking without having the previous necessary requirements (I do remember them existing a bit ago before I quit however), which is incredibly frustrating but there have been other people on free trial accounts who have confirmed they were able to do the same thing after a bit of back and forth. I’m just wondering why it seems nobody but me has picked up on this yet? It’s a big deal.
It was in the patch notes for 10.1.5, iirc. Something about Chromie Time requirements were dropped.

Okay so I’m not crazy! It seems a lot of the guides haven’t read up on the latest patch notes. I was getting frustrated because they just don’t seem to believe me and I felt like I was being accused of lying.
The weird part is that no one had a clue what that meant. Because it was worded oddly. But this was the guess!
Edit to add that this was the wording in the patch notes:
Chromie Time expansion restrictions have been removed.
