Me in 8.3 and a couple times in WoD.
This assumes your consistent group / friends are good at the video game. The times I got AotC via pugging in WoD (since it didn’t lock me out of playing with said consistent group) are because I COULD - probably in 2 or 3 weeks, while my group would take 4-5 months on Heroic.
Consistent Group != Good Group. I enjoyed playing with them (I quit organized raiding after 8.1.5), but the nature of pugs being able to pull people from any realm means there are ALWAYS strong players available. That’s not why I stopped, just pointing it out.
