The name of the species is simply Elf. Night Elf, High Elf, Blood Elf and even Void Elf are more like branch races with different tones and cultures. Much like how humans have different races like Aryans and Polynesians, but the name of the species is still ‘Human’.
While biologically speaking there is little to no difference between High Elf and Blood Elf, their believes and practices do sets them miles apart.
Of course, the problem for the game is how to differentiate the two in a unique, distinctive and yet informative manner.
‘Similar look but different faction and eye color’ - while acceptable to some - is a tough solution, which is hard to tell visually, let alone adding more customization.
Nope. High Elves go to the Horde. We’ll give the Alliance Void Humans, though. Heck, we’ll even throw in a nice, blue reskinned horse mount, too. Doesn’t that sound great?
Silver Covenant should been a Alliance option a long time ago. No matter how bad the Anties are in denial to include the devs, there are Alliance Quel’dorei
Forsaken Night Elves to the Horde and High Elves for the Alliance is the most likely AR pair next as Blizzard is pushing the former and the next is the most symmetric option (especially when one considers that a NE/BE pair were the first announced ARs), but we can easily just get Forsaken Night Elves as a Night Elf skin with the Horde getting a brand new race like Ogres. Gotta make use of that Kul Tiran prototype.
I have doubt whatever the horde want when it comes to AR they will get its been this way since AR have been out, As for Alliance its a different story we get what the Devs deem fit.
Not really. I’d be surprised if Blizzard gave the one thing that visually identifies Alliance-aligned Thalassian elves to the Horde. That’d blur faction identity, which Blizzard representatives have used as an excuse not to provide playable High Elves as of yet.
