In this case… Because it’s an absolute horse
idea it’ll probably happen. Lol
Considering the upcoming leveling changes with the “Chromie Time” system and picking an expansion to level in, they actually could revamp the world and bring it up to date with the current story easily, and still retain the ability to play through all the old content.
That or the Sylvanas we have seen since she jumped off ICC isnt the “real” Sylvanas. And was replaced with a corrupted version of herself by the jailer. That way when we defeat her or The Jailer we can “free her” and then she gets to return back to Azeroth.
Come on Blizz. You know you want to lol
Dude. Shut up! Stop giving them crap ideas! Lol
Oh I have sooooo many more ideas

Keep them. To yourself.
Final Raid boss dies. Can be whoever we hate most (The Jailor, Sylvanas whoever) and it opens a portal.
You click to step through it and…
It sends you to the character creation screen for Classic. Having you start your journey all over in Azeroth.
(Since I’m kinda dabbling a bit there, it would bother me that much)

Oh come on don’t you want to hear about how Thrall will make peace with the soul of Garrosh and as a result of this otherworldly reconciliation he gets his Jesus powers back and leads the Horde again?
Get to level 60, find Sylvanas, kill her, ignore the covenants.
Joking aside I’m pretty sure the covenants are a mandatory part of the story campaign.
Not if I can help it.
We end up cut off from Azeroth during the course of the raid. Jailor is defeated by essentially corrupting the souls he’s intaking with life energy turning him alive for a moment before his own powers tear him apart.
Sylvanas (part of the encounter) also regains life and starts laughing in victory that she beat death only to be welcomed back by Alleria who promptly shoots her in the head.
Exit the tower only to be told we can’t go back to Azeroth until restore the connection which is what the 9.3.5 patch is all about. (Canonically we can’t go back, gameplay wise it’s as normal)
Restore the connection and return only to find 10 years have passed (Shadowlands time moves much slower than Azeroth) and the light and darkness went to war in our absence.
10.0 marketed as WoW 2
Thrall: Okay now choose a covenant so we can take the final step we need to get to Sylvanas and The Jailer.
You: No.
Thrall: …But you have to.
You: No.
Thrall: You don’t understand in order to safely get into The Maw we…where are you going?

Sylvanas survives, become the new God of Death. We’ll be so grateful to her we forgive everything.
(Thrall and Anduin kneel and kiss her hands before she ascends to unify the playerbase.)
Azeroth awakes and is remade, this time with Silvermoon and Exodar a part of the game world.
(This is a good thing because the Cataclysm revamp needs to be updated).
Next expansion probably after Shadowlands will deal with K’aresh and the Void.
(A intelligent decision would be with the world’s revamp factions finally dissolve)
Expansion after the Ethereals deals with fighting the Void Lords. This is the last expansion.
(Pre-Patch sees Anduin given the same curse as Khadgar and aged before his time. We seek a cure.)
Warcraft IV RTS announced in 2025.
Players rage on forums until the closing night of the game in 2030. Just like every other MMO.
The Jailor turns out to be the last xel’naga and Sylvanas is Tracer’s dark doppelganger. Jaina turns out to be not a dreadlord but a light forged dreadlord that went wrong and is now a forged light forged dreadlord who has been channeling Winston’s evil orangutan nemesis. Raynor and Nathanos, feeling used and dirty form a faction that hangs out at Jimmy Buffet’s cantina for the entire end of the expansion along with most players.
The final raid involves a battle with about everyone there but is violently broken up by the titan Azeroth hitting her roof (our floor) with a broom handle and yelling at everyone to just knock it off as she’s having a bad week. Everyone looks at each other and wonders if they are looking for mercenaries in Warhammer and wanders off, confused and dispirited.
The final cut scene is Chromie and Millificent Manastorm looking at a badly cobbled together hourglass. “You know,” Chromie sighs, “I don’t think we put that back together right.” Millificent shrugs and asks Chormie if she’d like to spend the weekend at Jimmy Buffet’s cantina and they giggle and leave together.
Actually, we know the real ending will end up being much less believable than this.
Before we kill the Jailer, Sylvanas steps in, kills him, and assumes his role and power.
We then take Sylvanas down to 1%.
Sylvanas does the typical villain, “Enough!”
Alleria steps forward and delivers the kill shot.
At that moment she loses herself to the Void.
After the initial shock wears off, Lor’themar rushes to kill her. Anduin parries the blow in her defense. He wants to talk it out. Maybe peace can be made with the Void Lords. Thrall, Baine, and Jaina agree with Anduin.
During the bickering, Alleria unleashes a void storm that begins consuming the Shadowlands itself.
Jaina uses her deus ex massteleporta spell to take us all back to safety. From a distance we watch the void storm sucking everything in. And then… it mysteriously stops.
Cut to Alleria. Vol’jin steps out of the shadows and stabs her in the back, becoming the new lord and master of the Shadowlands.
Alliance players lose their minds over losing a racial leader while a (former) Horde character becomes the all-powerful master of death.
80 million new threads crying Horde Favoritism crash the forums, which because Blizzard doesn’t pay attention to them anymore don’t come back up for days.
The universe ends, however with the neckless of azeroth and what titans, after life creatures, we use the neckless to recreate azeroth with the same time path, except for one…
Where sylvanas fails at burning the tree.
A lot of creative ideas
been a good read so far!
