Stormstruck Beaver with Lightning Shield, and Pierre with Heat Up, and Chitara will basically kill herself with her attacks. Any pet with reflective damage like that should work easily in just a couple rounds.
So, not a bug. Just another weird pet battle gimmick to counter.
