Chillest low APM RDPS class Raiding/M+ contents?

The only class that really and truly fits this role is one of the ones you dont want. BM hunters have a pet to tank. They have 1 button AoE. They have short CDs, so messing one up is forgiving. They do solid Single Target for Raiding, and consistent sustained DPS for M+. With Ferocity pet, plus mend pet rolling, they do a lot of passive healing. AND brings Lust.

The only other spec which may fit, would be destro lock. But Destro locks, rely a lot around their infernal CD. Which means, a poorly timed infernal, kind of bricks you till its up again.

Ele shaman wont fit because of the opposite reasons. It has short elemental CDs, which makes it more forgiving, but it is fast paced, with a lot of buttons going on. Even more if you play icefury, which I dont enjoy. But it brings Lust.

Frost mage would probobly fit what you are looking for. It is fairly straight forward. It is less fast paced than ele, and more forgiving than destro. But no pet, so you have to kite. Which you will be amazing at as frost. The only problem is right now frost is the least desired of the 3 mage specs. But it brings lust, which is nice.

You could also look at Boomkin. While it isnt the bell of the ball right now, it can still put up decent numbers, and is fairly straight forward as a spec. There are some easy talent choices, and it is pretty forgiving if you play nightfae. If you want to play venthyr, then you are purely a CD class, which I would not recommend. With resto affinity, you can do some good healing, and as a class, you are fairly tanky. You have root and treants to help solo elites.

All things considered, even though you say no
BM hunter is really what you are looking for. And if you want to juice up the playstyle a bit, play venthyr. Its not Meta for the spec, but it makes the rotation a little more fun and interesting.

When most of your casts hit for 3k or 5k, but when your big empowered Arcane Barrage can crit fo 340k
it really sucks when that big barrage fails to crit.

Which is just like watching your pyroblasts not crit when you don’t have the buff running. shrug It sucks but it’s not the end of the world like you were trying to suggest by calling it a major problem. Just like every other button having huge crit numbers failing to do so for any other class/spec
it sucks but expecting crits and being disappointed your gear/spec doesn’t promote 100% crit rate is silly. RNG is going to RNG

Whoops!

The example you chose demonstrates the OPPOSITE of the point you were trying to make.

Combustion increases your critical strike chance by 100% while it is active. This means that your Pyroblasts ALWAYS crit “while the buff is running”. It’s guaranteed!

That said, I’m sure there are many other examples in the game of abilities that hit especially hard can crit or not. It’s just especially painful for arcane mages where a single cast not critting might reduce your overall damage done for a fight by 5-10%.

COMBUSTION is the buff I mentioned NOT running. Getting 2 crits still gives you a free pyroblast so the point still stands. So, no my point is valid and you have misread what I wrote.

With that said yes you can go through a dry spell and not crit enough to effect your overall dps but generally DPS is done by averages so it maths out in the end.

Not really.

Fire mages get lots of pyroblasts outside of combustion. Sometimes they crit, sometimes they don’t. If any single one of them doesn’t crit it won’t really affect your damage much.

That’s definitely not the case for arcane mages where a single fully-buffed Barrage cast can account for 15 or 20% of your damage done for a fight. If that doesn’t crit
 OUCH!

Arcane mages also might only get 2 or 3 of these ultra-powered barrages per fight since it’s on a 2-minute CD.

Compare to fire mages who get many dozens of free pyroblast procs outside Combustion.

The fireblast procs outside combustion are comparable to an arcane mage getting Arcane Missile Procs. They in no way compare to the mega empowered Arcane Barrage Kyrian arcane mages get every 1.5-2 minutes.

Yeh no, frost mage requires you to keep casting until your ice lance and flurry procs and your frozen orb is off CD and than it’s just spam spam spam. I’d say even balance druid has a lower APM than frost mage, but hunter or destro lock might be the lowest.

Windwalker and havoc dh aren’t too challenging to play, obliterate spec frost dk has a bunch of cool effects and ams to save your butt as well.

Both are high APM Specs :frowning:

This is a troll move.

Warlock is the answer you seek.

Nothing in the game matches the magnitude of awesome that is, “chaos bolt.”

The only way the spell could feel more impactful is if they made the screen shake upon hitting the target.

I wish they’d have your character /cackle upon casting a crit.

Was leveling warlock kinda felt meh due to hard to control/play and also nerfs coming next week
