Child wants to play

Can I add a child toy account or is it a separate account.? I looked for info and did not see much. Any help would be great.

You can do either if they are a minor, and under 13. You can let them use your license, or you can make a different license on the same Blizzard license.

If they are under 13, you could even create a different Blizzard account in your name. If they are over 13, you can create a Blizzard account in their name though, this way you can do things like chat via battle net at the same time, and pet battle. You won’t share pets, mounts or heirlooms, but at some point in the future it will make it easier for them to take over their own account if they wish, after they turn 18.

You are permitted to share your Battle Net account with 1 minor child to whom you are a parent or legal guardian.

Though, I think it best to make a separate Battle Net account (under your name until they are of the legal age of majority) for the child.

This way should they wish to continue playing then all of the account-bound items (such as: mounts, pets, appearances, toys, titles, achievements, etc.) that they earned will be on their own account.

Whereas if they stayed on your account and then reached legal age of majority, they would have to have their own account and thus would lose any account-bound items they earned while on your existing account.

You can even set up parental controls on the new Battle Net account to help control their access to it.

And don’t forget about Recruit-a-Friend for added bonuses while leveling with your child.

You may, at your discretion, allow a minor child, that you are the parent or legal guardian of, access to your account. They can essentially play on the WoW account you are registered to, if you wish.

If you want to give them their own WoW account to play on, you could add it to your current Battle.net account. I would recommend that you create a separate Battle.net account, under your name, that they’ll use. This allows you to set parental controls on it, that won’t impact your ability to play on your account, and give them their own account for their own pet, mount, toy, heirloom, achievement, etc… collection.

If they are over 13 but under 18, they can have an account in their name, but you’ll be required to set up parental controls.
