That looks like one of the chat tabs has a wider border than the others. Try selecting the tabs and see if one is wider than the others.
no that wasn’t it I closed the other tabs
Type /fstack and place the mouse cursor over the “extra” bit and see if frame stack information panel contains a frame name that’s informative (or you can post here so we can maybe figure out what it is).
Type /fstack again to close the information panel.

I think it has something to do with that “chatframe 1 Righttexture”
ChatFrame1Background which is fixed within the boundry of the ChatFrame itself by default.
Possibly an addon/macro that is adjusting ChatFrame settings ChatFrame1.Background, ChatFrame1Background
It’s also possible that’s the space where the scrollbar normally gets displayed as the actual text space (solid black with border) in your original SS doesn’t appear to display it…
