Same here. I transfered from Mal’Ganis to Azralon over 2 years ago. As of last night, my server in guild has been showing as “Mal’Ganis” and I’m not seen by others in the guild roster.
A bunch of my guildies transferred servers a few weeks ago and now its like 50/50 every day and alternates. One day i show as last server, next day i show as correct. Makes it hard knowing who is on.
Guys! This was happening to me, and I thought it was an issue just with like GRM addon, but it was actually Altoholic! (I think, haha). Here’s what I did to fix the issue.
When we change our characters realms, or even just the name, the system actually makes a new character and copies everything over to it. So in Altoholic, it was still showing my old character’s names. I went ahead and deleted the old character profiles, and logged into all the toons that were showing weird in the guild roster. After logging into all of them and checking bank and AH, the issue was resolved, and no other guildies are seeing the weird names either. Hope this helps!
Note to Blizzard: It seems there is an issue with characters appearing with the wrong name and/or realm in their guild rosters after transferring/name changing. This was appearing for several people who didn’t even have the addons that I did. The issue appears to have been caused somehow by Altoholic, because it retains the old “character”'s information even after just a name change because a new character is technically created and the program doesn’t know how to automatically update that, so it saves both "character"s information.
The fix is to have the player go into the Altoholic menu, select the old character name in the general panel on the left side, right click, and delete that old character information. Check bank, reagent bank, and AH. Then they need to relog into any other characters that were showing wrong (even if those characters were not recently name changed or transferred), check bank, reagent bank, and AH so all information updates in the addon. Finally, log back into their main and the issue should be resolved.

I’d say if there is still an issue, to delete altoholic using the addon manager you use (curseforge) and reinstall it, then log into each toon and check bank, reagent bank, mail and AH to allow everything to update. I didn’t need to go that far, but if for some reason the initial fix doesn’t work, please try that.
**EDIT: just kidding, after logging a couple of times, the issue has resurfaced. People who don’t even have the addons I have are seeing the issue as well. I deleted GRM and relaunched, still an issue. I’m not going to delete altoholic, as I am fairly certain that’s not causing the issue now. Seems that the in game system is bugged. Adding a bug report of my own.

This is happening to me again as well. I transferred from Greymane to storm rage last year and it’s popping up again.
Deleting the WTF, Resetting Addons, repairing the game none of that works etc
Happening to me as well. If I look at Offline characters it’ll show many others as well, such as… Zafire-Area 52 etc etc. If I keep logging on and off, it’ll sometimes show me normal in the roster. It’s very annoying and needs to be fixed.
Can we please get a Blue post? I’ve payed 100’s of dollars moving multiple characters around and I didn’t pay for this BUG.
I and a few others from my guild are also experiencing this with some of us showing names/servers from 10+ years ago even. Can we get a fix for this already? it’s been 5+ months since this was first reported here…

I was having the issue. I gquit on those and rejoined and logged back in. I was able to promote and see them as on my server
Just found a name i dont recognize from a different servers with offficer icon i cannot interact with. Still happening in 2023

this JUST happened in my guild less than an hour ago while i was offline, i checked the chat log and a name i didn’t recognise from a server that isn’t connected said something.
It’s happening to me right now, almost a year after this thread was created. I’m on my character Swiftpawss on Wyrmrest Accord in my WA guild, but when I send a message I apparently am on my Illidan toon…
