I concur with Praetorian. It is best for children to have their own Battle Net account from the start.

Entirely true, but I do want to echo some of the other statements made in this thread about providing the step-son with their own Battle.net account. A separate Battle.net account allows you to set up parental controls for the account that won’t impact your game play.
