Congrats, you made the ring as good as a 390 socketed ring for frost mages. Up from 364. so I guess that’s something but until you actually figure out how to add stats to this ring, its still going to be hot garbage.

“Its common sense that blizzard tunes stuff like this” is a crappy excuse. Thats what the ptr is for, where the materials and gold you spend dont matter.

Yep. We don’t throw out the entire itemization structure and start from scratch every expansion. The system has gone without much change since inception. The gear is “borrowed,” but the system is not.

So are they pretending its a gear upgrade and you’re upset that it’s not, or is it a gear upgrade that you’re being forced to get and you’re upset about being forced to get it? In either case its new content to do, whether you care about that content or not isn’t going to stop others from enjoying it, like me.

Not showing in tool tips . Frost shield shows 36k on tooltip but I get 41 k shields.

It’s an item level upgrade, yes. But it’s not a performance upgrade. Which is the issue people keep emphasizing.

If it’s only about item level being a measure of effectiveness, then we don’t need addons or websites for player ratings at all. Item level is absolutely the thing to look at.

But we both know that’s never going to be the case.

All I know is, doesn’t matter which of my alts equips the ring. It’s a net performance loss for all of them.

Sometimes as bad as 15% or so.

So yay. My item level is higher. And I’m doing worse. I have blue rings that are better for performance than the annulet. Because the secondary stats are better than the proc rates and damage coming from that thing.

This guy complains about “well actually” and then types the biggest, “well actually” in the entire thread. Also it isn’t about the length or difficulty of the grind, it’s the finite nature of the resource and the onus put on players to have competitive gear by their respective teams. Serious emperor’s new clothes vibes here.

Why are there so many of these? Why does each new patch add over a bags worth of trash and other items we need to juggle? How are you so far off the mark on something that you had to buff it 72% right away?!?! Please stop bogging us down in nonsense with so many moving bars that it is a nightmare to try to accurately pick these things.

Honestly, real talk. Why is there so many? Like… really. Why?
Warcraft has experimented with many different things and has a lot of unique and interesting systems in place for various experiences and items.
So why did the devs decide to add in a ton of stones, which are objects in the players bag instead of something else?
We already have a quest where we get 3 little thingies to throw in the ‘base’ area that allows us to mess with the stones in various ways. Why on earth did no one think to have the stones ‘drop’, but instead of going into the players bag, have that drop data go into an object in world where we can go through and apply the ‘buff’ we want to our ring from there? They can still be one time use until ‘dropped’ again of course. But why does this all have to be stored in our bags?
We already have similar things coded in this way from previous expansions and it wouldnt have been really any extra work at all to edit and expan upon what was already coded in for something like this.

I’m going to give you free advice, just stop. Put secondary stats on the ring, and move onto actual things that need balancing like your entire class/talent system. I know you guys are bad at your job, but you could at least try a little bit.

Now make untapped knowledge account bound and drop more frequently.

You want us to keep playing right? How are we going to play our alts if they can’t catch up in a timely manner. Wasn’t that the whole purpose of this?

Players never learn always let the pawns go first. Want to be a pawn? Go right thread. As of people haven’t learn from SoD back on SL how blizzard made one gem way too OP and then nerf all gem to the ground 2nd week it was release.

Meh the ring could he good for tanks coz of the pure HP gains. Fits well won’t my bear at least. Other tanks might not like it.

This isn’t useful basically at all for most anyone with a half decent set of rings. You should let us put a large secondary stat on it of our choosing, THEN it would make sense to use.

You all are so out of touch with so many classes and how they fundamentally function, that it’s staggering you implement things like this
