CC Member's take on Race/Class Combos

You’re welcome to try, but don’t blame me for all the spears and impalement. Also should you REALLY be making that argument while trying to erase cultural identity?

Fun fact, everyone is equally human and only one tribe on earth is known to rebuke all outside contact with violence… but i guess I now know why you want to keep the races divided sheesh.

I’m not falling for this, you’re welcome to hurl insults all you want, but it just goes to show your argument was not that strong to begin with.

This really doesn’t disprove what I’m arguing at all. Pre-Cata Nelf Culture didn’t practice Magics but in Cata a group of Highborne rejoined the Nelfs and suddenly Mage class was unlocked. That’s a culture changing. The same could be applied to Draenei/LFD and it would easily fit given the existence of Manari/Eredars in regards to Draenei/LFD lore.

It’s not even lore breaking. Races and cultures that have been integrated for long periods of time will obviously start to blend together.

It makes way more sense to enable more race/class combos than it does to continue to keep them separate.

If people are so extremely dead set on having certain things stay the same way forever then go play on an RP server where you and your guild can pretend things never changed.

From what I’ve seen most people would rather have more options than keep things limited because of irrelevant lore reasons that don’t even hold up anymore.

They did though, they just outlawed it and then went back to it. Meanwhile the LFD and Draenei have never practiced Fel before The Legion invaded, that’s not a parallel comparison.

I mean did Nelfs do fel before Illidan got involved? Honestly asking because I don’t remember.

The NEs used magic, that was the point, they are just plain wrong in that regard.

Doesn’t matter. What does matter is that they have the ability to do so and with the Highborne example, it shows the precedent that Blizzard is willing to reunite racial groups together to enable a race to be a certain class because…

Everyone can be taught anything if they have the will to persue it and it is physically possible for them to do it.

A undead wiggles their fingers and says “boosac noodle” and a voidwalker appears.

A tauren should get the same result from going “boosac noodle” and wiggling her fingers.

Cause just like class trainers, the magic of warcraft doesn’t get to 99% loaded and then the devs stop it “Sorry, turns out the magic that works for everyone else, won’t work for you, because you arent the right race”

That’s not a good look for a company, and it doesn’t make sense with the lore because magic is not racist and (i would hope) the teachers on azeroth arent canonically rampant racists.

Sorry but any class any race only makes sense.

Exactly. If Goblins can be Shamans for a silly reason, anyone can be a Shaman.

Your entire argument is that acknowledging physiological, political, and cultural distinctions is racist? That’s hypocrisy at it’s finest…

Even if it erases racial identity and culture?

Firstly, I agree with Letholas, and second, I don’t think it’s the playerbase that is particularly for the combo’s. A large vocal group to be sure, but not necessarily it’s base.

This a a wrong supposition as well. The gentleman/gentlelady Letholas has a good and fair point to share, and he’s entitled to bring it up in his own way. Just because he mentions it does not mean it’s dismissive nor did it read that way to me.

I think there are plenty of a race/class combos. I honestly prefer to stick to the old lore when building class combos. I can see why others want more options, just think a dwarf dh, for instance, is kinda silly. ANY other class for DH makes zero sense. It’s an opinion. That’s all.

It is, the OP of this thread is part of that crowd. The OP of the CC thread basically threw everything else in to try to make their demand for velf pallies seem less obvious. They also originally completely excluded Blood Elves because they’re also part of that crowd.

It’s not erasing. It’s evolving.

What if they don’t want to evolve?

Even with lore?

I don’t even… are you honestly saying you think its a good thing to deny teaching someone something… to maintain racial purity?.. I mean I went 100% game talk the last post but you call me a hypocrite for saying everyone can be taught anything.

You do know that your character in game is just a loosely affiliated murder hobo, you could learn anything while you are out collecting your 10 bear butts, you arent a Wrynn-owned unit that is in isolation at all times unless you are out on a task for the king.

My personal argument is: but I want it my way

If they WANT racial purity, then yes.

I’m calling you a hypocrite because you think it’s racist to think that some cultures are happy as they are, without being told what they HAVE to be according to you. Glasshouses as the saying goes.
