CC Member's take on Race/Class Combos

All class all race should be a thing.

Using Muh Lore as an argument is a meme.

lmao.

No its a very good thing to be worried about.
Lore is a huge part of a game like this

Giving all classes to all races is a good thing but it needs to be done right

Thatā€™s the thing.

Lore will be written and made for all the combinations. These things will not just stagnate.

But seeing it thrown around and used to just ward off more additions and new content is getting very annoying.

lmao.

I meanā€¦ letā€™s talk about Paladins and Shamans.

Why is it that all but two of the Hordeā€™s racesā€¦ and Iā€™m not saying itā€™s the ones that should have been Alliance but itā€™s TOTALLY those twoā€¦ can be Shamans, but Paladins are still slim pickings for the Alliance?

There are no races that ā€œshould have beenā€ Alliance what are you on about

Exactly! Itā€™d be hard to really call them ā€œPaladinsā€ because they use Void, which is entirely anti-thetical to Light and Light is basically what being a Paladin centers around.

I mean, care to explain what lore could possibly explain a Void Elf DH or Paladin not exploding?

Reverie is all the same just a different ear.

lmao.

Warlocks use void and fel all the time
Theyre not opposites and work fine together.
Void elves originally were blood elves until the end of legion.
Theoretically demon hunters could have been in that group.

It would be unrealistic to have an elf that has the void whispering in their ear, and a demon inside them wanting control, to keep their sanity.

But in theory it could happen

(To be clear I donā€™t like it, but technically it works)

That doesnā€™t explain anything at allā€¦

While this is true, their Shadow/Void spells are cast and kept separate from the Fel inside their bodies, with a Void Elf Demon Hunter both of these would be inside of them, and Fel does not react well to either Void or Light.

As far as what I can tell from the lore, there is nothing saying they canā€™t work in tandem.
Its a very weird combo.
I would love it from a gameplay perspective but lore wise the demon and void pushes them to insanity in my eyes

Light, Fel, and Void are sort of like matter, anti-matter, and exotic matterā€¦ whether Void or Fel is antimatter, is debatable, though it makes more sense for Fel to be anti-matter since like antimatter when it comes into contact with regular stuff it makes more of itself.

There are other places where we see what happens when all three form combinations, but Xhulā€™horac is (quite literally) the largest I think.

the magic system is bad if not non-existent though. most of the major magic archetypes in warcraft are criminally similar to each other.

but yes. this is a secret void elf paladin thread so I disagree with the OP.

I disagree. Iā€™m honestly not even sure I understand this line of thinking. Each cosmic force is very different and all connected in different ways. Now we even have two maps of them to show the different perspectives of their interactions and differences. But maybe Iā€™m not understanding what you mean.

They are quite literally the same things except for location on the cosmic map and color. Void and Light both can future see with very niche differences and thatā€™s where it ends. (There is a reason why so many people ask for void skin of pallies) The only one that has been shown to be different at all is Death. But even that isnā€™t that crazy considering we have LF undead now sooo. Arcane and Fel magically operate the same. Both at itā€™s highest capacity are just pure power with the one key difference being that fel is unstable but we havenā€™t seen much of the arcane at all and it has been shown at times to be extremely volatile as well. Life falls in the same boat as arcane with us having little actual info besides interaction with some pantheon members and thatā€™s all we touch on. The only source on Life that reveals its flaws Everbloom seems to suggest that it falls into the exact same pitfalls.

They are just different colors. The differences in the magic are very minimal

Actually itā€™s not. There are differences in how they work, how they view things, etc. Theyā€™re opposites for a reason.

Arcane is Order. Fel is Chaos. They work differently, have different uses, different viewpoints, etc.

Life and Death arenā€™t the same, either.

Noā€¦ they really donā€™t.

They arenā€™t just different colors. Maybe you havenā€™t spent enough time with their storylines and lore? Iā€™m not sure. This sounds like more of a gameplay perspective than a lore one.

Iā€™ve DMā€™d you

Nope I just donā€™t like it when thereā€™re CC comments that donā€™t take in consideration other peopleā€™s views as well. Iā€™d also like Nightborne DHs and Druids, Void elf DHs, Gnome and Mechagnome Druids, Pandaren Druids, etc. Just cause I support Void Elf Palas donā€™t mean I donā€™t support other class / race combos as well

Nah I disagree. I actually really love the antithesis of the Magical elements in WoW, especially Light / Dark / Fel / Arcane. Thereā€™s even a map made showing all the schools and their origins on it right?

Please, the Sunwalker addition was probably one of the best things Blizzard has added for Paladin lore.

I think his point was that if that is all it takes for something to suddenly be able to be a paladin then any other reasoning is pretty much invalid.

I do agree that the lore added for additional paladins is decent so blizzard should continue the trend with other races.

Well no, heā€™s against lore just ā€˜appearingā€™ and feels that new combos should only be developed only via their previously established lore.

Which Iā€™m not sure what his point is when Anshe was a point of worship for the Tauren and itā€™s the literal sun so thatā€™s pretty organic.

Every tauren class is perfect and flawless. Just like every dwarf and Draenei (both kinds.)
