He seems to know how I am educated so I am also just guessing how he got his too.
If you want parties other than the top 2 to have any chance, you need to switch from America’s simplistic “first past the post” system to Australia’s system of proportional representation.
The wealthiest can afford to buy both parties, so “first past the post” is beloved by greedy capitalists and they have the power to keep it that way. Getting a system in place in America where a vote for other than Reps/Dems is not a wasted vote would be very difficult.
Yes the winner take all first past the post system is bad and leads to 2 corrupt parties, also the lax campaign finance laws. Besides proportional representation, being able to vote for all candidates ranking them in order of preference would be better, then you are not just voting for the lesser of 2 evils.
Well, you guys are not wrong.
But that’s not what the rules are now (in the US), and the game has to be played to win.
The last 3rd party candidate to actually win was, IIRC, Lincoln.
Running as and voting for 3rd party is advocating for who you want least.
That’s how it is. Until the rules change.
But all this is off topic, and spam at best.
We do have a three party system in the US. Where have you been? While they can’t vote or be elected they have a huge effect on who will win and who will lose. Surly you know who they are comrade, no? ![]()
They don’t need to hack our machines if they can hack our brains.
Because that is literally the point of forums: feedback.
You can’t say to someone; ‘oh you shouldn’t post here because your opinion of the state of the game is a negative one’.
What the heck kind of nonsense is that attitude?
I think it speaks volumes as to the stupidity of the people in charge of this company when they lay a bunch of people off and then go “Hey we need to hire some more people!” Even if it is in different departments than the layoffs occurred, you’re a special kind of stupid if you expect to attract top talent after laying off almost 10% of your entire work force. Job security makes people work harder and also attracts people who not only want to grow, but help your company grow. All this company managed to do is send a loud and clear message to anyone and everyone “Nothing you do matters.” So now who would put forth their top effort, or even seek employment here as anything more than a stepping stone? I mean, they fired their CFO for looking into working for Netflix. But when you treat your employees like disposable resources, don’t expect any kind of loyalty from them.
This is exactly what I was thinking. The only thing which seems to stay relevant on these forums is flying and allied races. Everything else is just flavor of the week.
Occasionally you get a random spark of interest on some random topic which had it’s moment, but then it just fades back to nothingness.
Sad, but true fact of the GD forums.
That’s nice but the message you are sending to blizzard by keeping on paying them is you like the game, even though you claim on here it is terrible.
Lots of people. According to some people on this forum working for blizzard is a dream job.
I worked in a strong union environment for 20 years with the government and job security does not make people work harder, it actually is the opposite. A little fear you might lose your job tends to keep people on their toes a bit. And no person should be ‘loyal’ to an employer past their own self interest, that is just silly sentiment.
Well said sir!
Geez, you need to research what caused that strong profit there with that company and I know it is early for me but nothing in that article mentions the game they picked up that is fueling that.
The fear of getting fired due to poor performance has a different effect on work ethic than the fear of being laid off because the top suit wants to buy another yacht.
Good thing that isn’t what is happening with blizzard then isn’t it ? We get it you don’t want to work for blizzard, that’s okay I am sure they will find someone talented who will, probably someone who has done more research and is more knowledgable as well.
Reading comprehension obviously isn’t your strong point.
oh really, what do you think I didn’t read ?
Pretty much everything I posted. You read maybe a few key words, and responded to those. Completely missing the entire point of what I posted. It’s okay, not everyone can read. I mean I mainly look at the pictures too. It’s okay.
I didn’t miss the point, I know what your aim was. However, making up stories to try to ‘prove’ your point doesn’t work so well.
Sometimes lay-offs allow a company to get rid of bad employees in every department. Sometimes, yes, lay-offs are a good thing.
But sometimes the best people get laid off just because they are newest. Or because the boss is threatened by their competence. Or because they didn’t socialize with the right people at the right time. Or even because the bosses know that person won’t fight back if they get canned.
I’ve had oodles of jobs because I am old. Agricultural field work to college professor. And I have seen the stupidity of both unlimited job security AND lay-offs.
In this case, from the outside, from this customer’s perspective, it looks like the guys who made this awful expac are still happily employed and the ONE CM I actually saw around who talked to players like a real person is gone.
Which makes me wonder about the effectiveness of this lay-off.
