Not gonna lie… I thought I wanted the tree but caterpillar sounds amazing and so unlike any other mount we have!

Wrong. The ancient mount is an ancient not a Gronn. It will use the ancient rig and animations, why would it use the gronn rig?
Worms are gross. Also they’re not cute, they’re worms which are disgusting.
It can’t. It says its too big to turn into a butterfly in the description.

I was hoping for something closer resembling an Inch Worm or like an Eastern Swallowtail Caterpillar. Something with a neat idle animation - where it rears up, lifting the player and looks around, and runs in a circle. Or maybe in the instance of the inch worm, you sit at the peak of the bend in the worm.

I… what? I didn’t say it would use the Gronn rig. I said it’s comparable to the Gronn in that it’s big, bipedal, and we’ll probably ride it in a similar fashion. (I know, Gronn aren’t technically bipedal, they’re knuckle-walkers.)
This is a caterpillar, not a worm.

People like the stupid monstrous ancient because it’s big.
That’s how the mind works in the masses. Yet they’ll probably regret it after the fact because those kinds of huge lumbering mounts are extremely niche and not all that practical because of how it plays awkward with the camera.

Even though I personally hate the flying book idea I still appreciate the fact it is unique and I’m all behind people that do vote for it.
The Ancient will be very like the gronnling and mech mounts in practical terms.
Doesn’t mean it still can’t pop out butterfly wings and fly. It just says it’s “too large to become a butterfly.” And now I see why he called it a worn, even though caterpillars aren’t worms.

Either way, I still want it.
Caterpillar mount should win! I’ll still be happy if the tree wins but riding around on a caterpillar is better

Even though Caterpillars are super cute, imo, I ended up voting for the Ancient. It’s something I’ve always wanted to see as a mount.
