Catch up mechanic for soul ash

Is really not that bad, in the upcoming weeks they will increase the amount of soul ash you can get each week. 1200 is going to be nothing, especially when you want to upgrade them to 3-4.

Super serious question here. Due to my complex personal schedule (I’m a philosophy professor with 17 children, a sick dog, and also am a fighter pilot deployed on an aircraft carrier at the moment, plus I exercise 7.2 hours per day) I am WAY behind on leveling fishing.

I’m concerned that blizzard has designed this game in a way that allowed other people to max out fishing before me. Obviously this cripples my opportunities to be an AH mogul. Has blizzard announced their plan to address this wildly unfair situation in which people who play more than me earn more than me? Is there a way to pay blizzard to just give me things so I don’t actually have to play?

Serious responses only please.

Sounds like you have your stuff together being you have a career and assuming you have more money than all the NEETS with their max fishing I don’t see why blizzard being a for profit company wouldn’t capitalize on it and give you a catch up for cash

Cynicism has no place here. You’re one of the ones making it a cesspool.

And balance that with the “Why is everything time-gated I’ve got nothing to dooooooo??” threads. No pleasing anyone

There are 3 types of players (excluding PvP).

  1. Casuals that don’t care about being better.
  2. Regulars that don’t care about min/maxing.
  3. People who want AotC and CE.

You don’t get handouts for being lazy, you have to gear up before M+, use that gear to be geared for Raids. Been this way for a long time. If a guy is crying about missing his soul ash in the first week, that is honestly his fault.

edit:
Like I said before, you only have to clear 4 layers, once you clear 1 through 3 on one, it unlocks 3 for the other wing. I just duoed with a tank friend of mine, he tanked and I spanked and off healed if needed. Imagine playing a MMO with other people right?

You only need 1200 Ash to craft the legendary. This is at most 2 weeks of Torghast runs. The raid doesn’t open until the 18th (I think) so you have plenty of time. On top of this there are a ton of specs that can’t even farm for their legendary until the raid opens or a world boss shows up on the roster.

In short don’t worry about it. You’ll be a bit behind on gear this week making pugging M0 harder but if your guild is active that shouldn’t be a problem either. And as most people who cleared 8/8 M0 are already half way geared up from M0’s you’ll see far more loot trading.

to answer your question OP. currently there is no catch up mechanic (except for having access to more layers) however there probably will be at some point in the future, but i wouldn’t expect it till the next major patch at the earliest.

that being said, one week behind isn’t gonna matter in the grand scheme of things, especially when some classes need more legendaries than others so there is going to be an imbalance no matter what.

and… while this might sound rude its not intended as such cuz it applies to me just as much. but if you are raiding at any sort of competitive level where 1 week is going to make any real difference what so ever, you wouldn’t have allowed yourself to fall behind in the first place.

you still have time to get your first legendary before season starts (will just have to do it first thing that tuesday if your group raids that evening) and while you might be a week behind on your rank 2 legendary (or getting your second or third ones) that is pretty quickly going to even out as we get access to more layers and more soul ash per week.

Image having to kneel and kiss the boot of some guild member, leader or officer to do anything or be apart of a group.

Just ignore the Mythic raiders that are salty they can’t control how and when they spend their time in WoW.

But no, there’s no catch-up mechanic. You shouldn’t need it regardless.

Im so far behind, I dont even know what soul ashe is. It was Thanksgiving week. and I had a lot of work to do. Just finished the required quests to pick a covenant Sunday.

OMG RIGHT? I can’t even. I’ve been having SO MUCH fun. There is so much to do that it’s overwhelming. I love how no-pressure it’s been. I love how easy it was to get things done a little at a time. I love how many pets and treasures and funny little side stories there are to find. It has been an utterly amazing launch week, and then I come here and people are just–like–devastated and angry.

I don’t get it Momma. I just don’t.

You should finish your campaign as this explains it.

As you run Torghast you get ash from each layer. This can then be used to craft a legendary item.

At least he’s not a Human Paladin!

I seriously don’t understand your desire to insult. You admittedly won’t focus enough to finish the quests, so you want a catch-up mechanism. Many, many other people work full-time jobs and were able to manage it. Yet anyone that doesn’t empathize with your “I just can’t focus on the quests, wahhhhhhhh” gets called a pleb? No sympathy from me. You want to Mythic raid? Put on your grown-up pants and finish the dang quests!

I thought I finished it when I picked my covenant? So easy to get lost in all the systems of this expansion, and that is coming from someone who is actually loving it so far. Thanks for replying btw.

I think people who play Human are the people who think : “HoRdE r ThE bAd GuYs”

With 17 children you should be able to take that ah over in terms of fishing. Just organize that free labor source into a schedule of 30 minutes fishing once a day.

No problem the campaign carries on in the maw. You have to save Baine.

Recovering Baine and the Runecarver

After completing the first chapter of the covenant campaign, Bolvar Fordrgaon asks players to return to Torghast to save Baine. In the process, they will recover a key that leads to the Runecarver, crafter of artifacts (and legendaries).

  1. N [60] The Highlord Calls
  2. N [60] Into Torghast
  3. N [60] The Search for Baine
  • Optional side chain to unlock the Runecarver:
  1. N [60] Prison of the Forgotten
  2. N [60] Deep Within
  3. N [60] Reawakening
  4. N [60] A Damned Pact
  5. N [60] A Grave Chance
  6. N [60] The Weak Link
  7. N [60] Ashes of the Tower
  8. N [60] The Final Pieces
  9. N [60] Explore Torghast
  10. N [60] Remnants of Hope
  11. N [60] Information for a Price
  12. N [60] Torment Chamber: Jaina
  13. N [60] Finding a Witness
  14. N [60] Lest the Trail Go Cold
  15. N [60] Torment Chamber: Thrall
  16. N [60] Signs of the Lion
  17. N [60] The Captive King

It wasn’t all unlocked last week and I don’t know how much will be this week but thats the questline you want to finish.

No, but there’s no rush for a legendary right now anyway.

A lot of peoples BiS leggo drops from the raid itself, so they have to do the raid before getting their best legendary anyway.

You’re not gonna get declined for not having a legendary this early in the expansion. Later, maybe.
