[CATA] "Got Wood?" northern barens quest

Cataclysm Classic.

The “Got Wood?” quest in northern barrens appears to be broken. The quest text has reference to “Brutusk” and “Brutus”, and after receiving “Kadrak’s reins” I have no way of mounting “Brutusk” to complete the quest.

(Edit)
I left the area, flew back to the Mor’shan ramparts and now I am able to ride brutusk. Unknown if this should be the fix.

Nov 4th 2024 - Quest still bugged, fly to Crossroads, then fly back and you will be able to mount Brutusk.

Still broken as of November 30, 2024.

This is honestly pathetic.

Abandon quest and retake with the reins still in inventory and while on your own mount. That fixed it for me.

Quest Still bugged as of 1/28/25. I was able to just run into ashenvale until brutusk phased out and then ran back to him and was able to mount him.

Feb 5th 2025 not working

but…

Did what you said.

  1. Left Click Brutusk
  2. Run out of camp until Brutusk phases out (his icon disappears)
  3. Turn back around, and head back to Brutusk
  4. NOW you can mount him

Not sure what kind of bug this is, but it works.
