Attempting a return to Cata with this character and account. I had a second account that was my primary but quit playing it after Legion. My old main in that account had earned the Firelands mount. This chacarcter and account existed then but didn’t play through Cata, I think her Guardians of Hyjal rep is revered and I would like to go back and earn the mount for this account but I’m wandering around Hyjal kinda lost hunting for the portal. I found a fiery looking one not too far from the Sanctuary of Malorne but can’t go through it. I suspect there are some prereqs but am lost on where to start
I think you are looking for the Molten Front rather than Firelands proper.
Firelands is the raid that should be visible to you already, as as an 80 you can just walk in and solo the place easily. Several mounts available with achievements there.
But IIRC the portal to Molten Front calls itself the portal to Firelands, so it is natural enough to remember it as Firelands.
The quest that unlocks the Molten Front is Through the Gates of Hell
and according to Wowhead’s Quest tracker, that character
has done the quest Leyara, where you just watch Hamuul get burned, but has not yet done Through the Gates of Hell, which should be available for you as soon as you turn it in.
Have you taken the quest Through the Gates of Hell? Is it in your log?
Maybe you are just at the wrong portal-looking thing?
Co-ordinates are 27.49, 56.35 (On the map it’s above Sanctuary of Malorne and to the right of the lake)
