Cata guild member that was exalted, gkicked as a joke (been doing this as long as ive had the dude in my guild) and now all of his rep is gone when he rejoined… He was exalted. he did not join another guild in the process.
I too had this issue a few hours ago, as I moved a character from one guild to be with the rest of my characters in the guild i run. my rep went to neutral 0.

Actually, in retail cata - it used to take your rep completely when you left/kicked etc.
They fixed it so that some people could have fun and not pay the price for it. They implemented it later so that you wouldnt lose rep until you joined another guild.
Cata classic hasnt had an issue thus far. When leaving or kicking someone their rep only downgraded a tier if they joined another guild. it was unphased otherwise upon rejoining the same guild again. It wasnt a problem until this week, yesterday’s reset. my guildmate (has been under this guild tag for a year, gkicked or left multiple times during cata but never joined another guild and got invited immediately back to ours) lost ALL of his guild rep when he was no longer under the guild tag. He was exalted, went to 0 neutral.
