Casuals are ruining the game!

I love the irony of a guy who hasn't even killed a raid boss or racked up a M+ score raging about casuals.

Titanforge doesn't even happen that often anymore my main is 375+ and I only have 1 TF 380 from Uldir heroic.. System is fine..

Nah that system needs to go.

Sure but give actual real reasons why "the system needs to go".

You sound almost like "LFR should be removed"

I understand some people don't have much time to play but why should others suffer because of it?
You don't suffer from it... Oh yeah, you are a casual! Anyway, all you presented is opinionated speculations... Let me know if ever find any evidence of this.

LFR, warfronts and Titantforge

- Gear progression is now pointless when you can just que LFR or warfronts and afk and collect free loot.

- Casuals are rewarded for being lucky rather than being skilled with lucky titanforges.

- If you are rewarded for being bad, then what's the reward for being good?

No more prestige

- Everything is so much easier to obtain now.

- From mounts, pets, titles, pvp titles, transmogs ect.

- If everything is easily obtained then the less prestigious it becomes and the less sought after it will be.

Time gating

- Everything is rewarding you for logging for a few hours a week.

- From chests, to reputation, mission tables, weekly quests and emissaries.

- This leaves non casual players with nothing to do.

Class design

- Every class was simplified and made similar with a builder/spender rotation and a 2-3 min burst cool down.

- Many baseline abilities were removed or added as talents.

- Ion even stated they removed shadow word death for shadow priest because it was too complex for players.
(Yes , an ability that literally lights up when its time to use is too complicated!!)

- Most of the more complex abilities and talents were put into a separate pvp tree.

character stats menu

- Was simplified whereas before it would show you much more information about your characters stats.

- Now you are forced to download an addon to see what everything does from auto attack timers, to move speed to global cool down time.

Pvp templates

- Was designed to even the playing field in a mmo because casuals didn't have the time or skill to get the gear non casuals were able to obtain.
(Pvp use to have vendors that had rating requirements to receive gear.)

- Which completely ruined gear progression in pvp and made pvp much more dull and less rewarding.

I understand some people don't have much time to play but why should others suffer because of it?
Not casuals ruining the game it's the fact the diablo 3 team is doing wow now. Literally almost everything is from diablo world quests are bounties, mythic plus is greater rifts, warforging and titanforging is ancient and primals. They are the real cause wow isn't wow anymore.

1st - Barely a PvPer. 2nd, still not seeing anything on your resume to justify the high horse you seem to have climbed up on.
Hard to ruin something that's already ruined.

My thing about titanforging is that it tells me as a player that no matter how hard I try, no matter how much work I put into the game, I will never be at a state where I can say I'm complete. It's meant to slow down progression and keep me here and I think that's bogus.

People have made the statement that raiders always quit when they get their best gear and I think a big part of the reasoning behind that is that they don't have a place to go and fool around with their gear at max potential. My theory is that they didn't have an outlet that was PvE related.

Think about PvP players. When we got all of our Conquest gear we didn't say....

"Phew. Well, I guess I've won the game and will now unsub"

No! We went into Arenas / RBGs to compete for titles, mounts, and cosmetics or just hopped into Random BGs to pwn noobs. That was our outlet and the game changes when you hit that level. Which now you will never achieve because you will never get a full 395 set of gear with gems and a tertiary stat (the stat to a much lesser degree it really means nothing)

But now we have Mythic+. And while I'm already aware that there are raiders that don't enjoy Mythic+, I don't think anyone can refute the amount of attention the MDI got in Legion and how successful it was. And with how popular Mythic+ was they should have scaled it and made it something similar to PvP seasons. With cool cosmetics, mounts and titles that reward players for their participation.

I would have much preferred that over a gear treadmill that will always attempt to keep me playing. Which in reality has already played a part in burnout for me.

Who cares? That is not the point of the game... I am "entitled" to be complete by having titanforged bis for every piece of gear... Also, once I am complete I can unsub until the next raid or xpac... :)

Thank you!

Everything you said is true.
Then lets get rid of all the casuals and have only the hardcore supporting it

Good luck with cash shops items and content droughts :)

Or they can add meaningful content that doesn't require you to log in once a week?

Adding more incentives and rewards for pvp and warmode is a good start.

Must be meaningful if you log in every week.

If I or many of the casuals ended up in world of elitism then chances are theyd leave, and all realm pop drops to low, and the only ones left would still be screaming that gear didnt drop for them or why arent there any people to queue with?

My thing about titanforging is that it tells me as a player that no matter how hard I try, no matter how much work I put into the game, I will never be at a state where I can say I'm complete.

The complete is "385+" in every single slot.

Anything extra is just there to make you keep going to that raid.

And even back then before TF was a thing.. getting fully BIS in every single slot wasn't like a joke even with Masterloot. By time you get full BIS the next patch was already around the corner.. So Enjoy being complete for what 1-2 weeks?
I think OP fails to understand the dynamics of people and how they interact with the systems. First off, as usual, I define casuals as people that only play a limited amount each week. All these changes aren't to appease casuals. They're to suck in the whales that have 40 hours a week to play. In the grand scale, titanforging only affects the people that can play an awful lot. That's what these systems do, they give a dopamine hit to the people that can't just walk away.

If anything, I think the thing hurting the game the most is not appealing to casuals. This game became so laser focused on Raiding/Mythic+/Arena that many of the other small little systems where casuals were able to thrive have suffered. Like for instance professions are just garbage as a means towards progression. Having stuff like badges in the past gave you a currency to slowly work on. If you log on 4-5 times a week, do a daily heroic, in like say a month you can purchase one piece of raid quality gear.
But now we have Mythic+. And while I'm already aware that there are raiders that don't enjoy Mythic+, I don't think anyone can refute the amount of attention the MDI got in Legion and how successful it was. I don't mind that.

But you do you realize that TF is actually not the problem? It's Mythic+.

People finishing +10 weekly. to get a 380+ that's how they are gearing up fast. IT has nothing to do with people getting lucky from a TF in LFR.

And no, I don't think Mythic raids should drop the best gear in game... There should always be more sources.. Like High end arena ratings, Mythic+ high keys.. etc.

Adding more incentives and rewards for pvp and warmode is a good start.

Why do you act like the Entire playerbase likes to PVP or arena? Did you even see the stats in Legion? about how many people actually got into arena higher than 1800 ratings? go check it.

There is a reason why Elite sets now is around 1800+ ratings..
