Casual pvp isn’t fun

No… that’s not what it means.

In epics… you’re trolling at this point.

Ya I think it’s best you stick with epics.

Ya, you just straight up don’t listen do you.

How long would it take for a single dps to run a single healer out of mana?

In current times and if both are on equal skill levels, probably never. The healer would also kill the dps player as well. The healer would have to mess up like really mess up.

Ya… exactly the point.

World PvP is a lot of fun if you organize a community to join you, but make sure you don’t talk in global. If you kill anyone in the world and they have global chat text, they’ll report you in retaliation. A lot of things competitive players consider “normal” to say are considered TOS by the moderation team.

You were posting in the CS forum just a bit ago, spreading misinformation.

If you don’t violate the ToS, you have nothing to worry about from being reported.
If you do, well, that’s kind of the natural consequences of breaking the ToS and getting reported for it, isn’t it?

I’m not spreading misinformation. It’s not documented what you can be banned for, and things normally said in competitive play - including in the normal world outside of the WoW universe - are considered against TOS in WoW.

You can deny it if you like, but I’ve seen ticket responses that tell a very different story than you’re claiming. Even the forum rules say:

"Do not post about locked or deleted threads.

Posts that are moderated are moderated for a reason. It’s up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules."

In the Code of Conduct, it lists the following:

Inappropriate Language

This category includes language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

  • Are a mildly inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
  • Are otherwise considered objectionable
  • Bypass the Mature Language filter

“Otherwise considered objectionable,” does a lot of work here. The Social Contract similarly has a catch-all for “other disruptive behaviors.” The logs I’ve seen as justification for account penalties have a lot of silly things in them. Are those the best reasons for the penalty or the only ones? Probably not. However, I’ve talked to a lot of people who don’t understand what happened or why.

I understand your goal here is to make everyone feel safe and comfortable. The general idea the WoW team seems to be attempting to convey is, “if you don’t do anything wrong, you won’t receive consequences.” However, without clear rules and guidelines, that’s little comfort to the people who are receiving account actions and don’t understand what they did wrong.

What you’re trying to do is rules lawyer. You will never find a community ruleset that lists every single word, phrase, or combination thereof that constitutes a violation of that community’s rules. It has to be up to the discretion of the moderators or game masters in order to function.
Regardless, I had already answered you here:

That’s great and all. You’re the one who dragged the drama into this thread. I had to add more context because, otherwise, it won’t make sense to anyone reading this thread why you’re making the accusations you are about me, “spreading misinformation.”

It’s against Code of Conduct to cross-link forum posts like this to create drama. See:

Cross Linking Threads
This category includes:

  • Linking to threads from other forums

You’re cross linking the Customer Support forum into the General Discussion forum for the purposes of making false accusations, and I don’t appreciate the behavior.

This has nothing to do with “rule lawyering” as you’re now accusing me of doing without any evidence. I’m asking for additional clarity, and so are many other players including a large volume of requests through the Better Business Bureau. I have no desire to argue with you, but I’m not going to allow you to make false accusations, break forum rules, and unfairly characterize me in a way that’s not true.

It wouldn’t cause any harm to WoW to include “name calling” in the Social Contract, and it would drastically increase rule clarity. Instead of attacking me, maybe we could have a reasonable discussion about where the rules are unclear and where folks are struggling with them. A non-trivial part of the user community has autism, and some people with autism find unclear rules very difficult to follow. Many folks curse in their daily language, even around children. Telling people cursing is against TOS would be very clear, wouldn’t cause problems, and would help a lot as well.

I’m asking for solutions and attempting to make reasonable recommendations when folks are interested. I’m acting in good faith with you, so I would appreciate it if you acted in good faith with me.

Very well said. The person you are talking to is a user that came out of nowhere and always speaks in absolutes and a place of authority. They are an agent of chaos, provocateur. Best to put them on ignore, you will never achieve an honest conversation. Stay safe out there.

Yeah, flag spinning for 5+ minutes isn’t a thing, totally doesn’t happen you’re right. Not like they had to change how flags work in battleground Blitz because teams getting the flags and nothing ever happening was a core component of battlegrounds for many years or anything.

So because healers want to play the game, if a single dps player sees a healer it should always shy away from it? That’s the situation currently. It’s an asinine way to design PvP, healers should be vulnerable when they run out of mana. It’s literally how arenas work, the only difference is that arenas get the benefit of ramping healing reduction over time, we don’t get that in random bgs, blitz (aside from ctf matches), or world PvP.

We’re not talking about 30 seconds, a minute would suffice. But as is, it’s currently much longer than 5 with a team fight in most battlegrounds, and that’s assuming a regen box isn’t nearby, or someone disengages to drink. Again, Blizzard recognizes this problem, it’s why dampening exists in arenas. The problem is that Blizzard only cares that it’s a problem in arenas.

We were, in the thread I linked. Then you brought up the same thing here.
I’m not going to have the same conversation with you in two different places. You already got your answers in the other thread. Let’s not derail this one.
I’m dropping it here.

Most players don’t enjoy arenas when OOM becomes the strategy. Dampening was originally brought in, as I recall, to stop certain toxic playstyles and super long arena matches, not to make healers soloable.

I don’t see how making healers able to be 1v1’d somehow would fix the 8v8 format. It might make team fights faster?

But let me tell you how it goes:

When healer mana sucks, everyone rerolls to the healer with the best mana and then everyone complains about it.

I mean that can happen even if people die, people return to the fight. Pretty rare people aren’t dying in 5 minute fights. Plus you can peel off as there are numerous objectives.

This is not why they made the flag change lol… They stated they wanted to speed up everything to do with the game. Hence mounts move faster, you res faster… Everything is faster.

Literally double dps 2s don’t exist anymore, not because healers heal like crazy… It’s because they can sit a stun, double sheep and a blind/gouge multiple times and the DPS doesn’t die because they have a million defensives.

Kinda strange hearing this from an Alliance player. Was pretty sure they dominate casual pvp right now.
