I’m not spreading misinformation. It’s not documented what you can be banned for, and things normally said in competitive play - including in the normal world outside of the WoW universe - are considered against TOS in WoW.
You can deny it if you like, but I’ve seen ticket responses that tell a very different story than you’re claiming. Even the forum rules say:
"Do not post about locked or deleted threads.
Posts that are moderated are moderated for a reason. It’s up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules."
In the Code of Conduct, it lists the following:
Inappropriate Language
This category includes language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Are a mildly inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
- Are otherwise considered objectionable
- Bypass the Mature Language filter
“Otherwise considered objectionable,” does a lot of work here. The Social Contract similarly has a catch-all for “other disruptive behaviors.” The logs I’ve seen as justification for account penalties have a lot of silly things in them. Are those the best reasons for the penalty or the only ones? Probably not. However, I’ve talked to a lot of people who don’t understand what happened or why.
I understand your goal here is to make everyone feel safe and comfortable. The general idea the WoW team seems to be attempting to convey is, “if you don’t do anything wrong, you won’t receive consequences.” However, without clear rules and guidelines, that’s little comfort to the people who are receiving account actions and don’t understand what they did wrong.
