Casual player and classic

Hmm well I have been raiding in dungeon gear for the last 3 months as I have terrible luck with rolls, but I can still do respectable dps in a raid.

The dungeon blues are almost as good as the epics depending on the class, and once you have decent gear, you can raid log once or twice a week for a couple hours. That’s pretty damn casual.

I think South Park, make love not warcraft fits into this thread rather well.

I believe the devs had the idea of the Mom Test with Vanilla, can my Mother play this?

Also like to add its 15 years old there isn’t really anything that hasnt been figured out yet and that makes things so much easier in all aspects of the game.

Still Classic Rocks.

Still the best blizzcon vid ever, i wish they went back to this way of thinking

Classic was never for a casual person. If you weren’t raiding for 8+ hours a night with your guild (factoring in farming potions, preparing for raid, getting there etc) then you weren’t really doing much.

and if you want to gain ranks in pvp? Get ready to run AB 12+ hours a day competing with all the other Grand Marshall groups out there.

People who say that there is plenty to do in classic at max level is a liar because there really just isn’t.

I mean, none of my gear is from the PvP grind. It’s all MC/60 dung gear, and I pretty much blow up most people I see in BGs. These raids are less than 2 hours long.

If you want the Warlord epics, though. Yeah, you have to put in work to get them. It’s the same rule set for everyone

:open_mouth: :exploding_head:

It’s funny that people keep saying “put in work.” AFKing all day while following a group to the end of a zerg is not work. However, on the occasion it actually turns into a PvPfest, that AFKer will be kicked and yes that bg will be work lol.

its not leveling will take most of a casuals time and all there is to do at the end game is raid and pvp.if you dont raids then all you got is pvp.

It’s been well documented that raid gear gives a large advantage in PvP. Push for rank 10 and get exalted with your BG factions, then you’ll at least be servicable.

The biggest problem with wow, that was never fixed, was always the hyperinflation of the raiding gear.

The item levels of raid gear is far too high and it broke the game. Forever.

Sadly.

It was done to appeal to the ADHD crowd that need constantly increasing numbers flying across their screen.

I always encourage people to check out the leveling bracket PvP scene. This is terrific for the casual player because you’re not stuck in a gear grind and the games typically do not have premades spoiling it and are a lot of fun.

If you’re a good player, you don’t even have to twink (I don’t) to contribute at X9.

I mean how casual are you… most guilds that are trying at all have Mc on farm now. Those that don’t are close to it. I know my guild is clearing Mc in about 90 mins from start to finish. I’d imagine most raiding guilds aren’t far from that number. You don’t have to be hardcore to play a couple of hours a week lol. In vanilla I remember spending 3- 4 nights a week raiding but now it’s just too simple. If your so casual you can’t put in 5 or 6 hours ina full week what then how can I expect anything from the game.

What guild are u in where y’all are so bad your doing molten core or onyxia for 8 hours + a night lol.

While vanilla was a bit rough due to the lack of knowledge we have now, even then it didn’t require 8+ hours a night of raiding. Casuals can easily do every bit of content that’s in classic wow with ease. That might change when bwl comes out but not likely. Give it 2 months tops and we will be doing the same thing. 2 hour clears and playing alts in free time.

Some people cannot commit to a raiding guild. I know the raids are a damn joke. I just can’t commit to raid times consistently, so I haven’t bothered looking for a guild. I would love to go steamroll MC/Ony in 1-2 hours every week but just not feasible right now.

i basically just raid log and have full raid gear
so it sounds like a you problem

lol good joke

What was casual in 2004 is different from what is casual these days. By comparison, the playerbase is infinitely more no life than before lol.

Grab dungeon blues, then grind up your ranks in BGs. The blue PvP set is for me enough for now.

I’m not talking about MC or onyxia that can be done in like 30 minutes - I’m talking about original wow (AQ40 - Naxx40) and that still stands today - if you’re not raiding you’re not doing anything.

Nice attempt at insulting me though - try answering next time without it because it wasn’t necessary.
