If yes to both then honestly I am not surprised especially if it was a likely common name.
I would of, and have as I decided to switch the classes of two names I took, done it on a week day at night/off hours.
Weekend day time on a full server is just kind of asking for it to some degree especially if it’s a common/valued name.
Might as well give up the name.

Do this on a week night BEFORE LAUNCH at a likely dead time. Or extremely early if you get up early! Not during the weekend or busy hours ESPECIALLY if on a Full server and/or with a popular name.

I’ve had it happen to me during vanilla on a relatively new server. I grabbed a valued name, realized I goofed wrong class, then deleted and remade as fast as possible and it was already taken. As said to others. High value name at busy hours on a weekend is risking it way too much. I wouldn’t do it even with the names I chose not being nearly as sought after as most.
Why would you wait till launch night to do this. It would be much safer right now, or perhaps during an off hour this week.
If you have the name you want, just wait till launch to log in to it, which then saves it to your account. THEN remake your toon.

It’s very simple to download a program that will spam the “enter” key which is all you would need. You only need to run it for two weeks straight and there’s a high chance you’ll get your name.
I thought about this while deleting my name and was nervous, but luckily no one tried to snipe me.
When transferring names and customizing names, I use a friend to make a character while I delete to customize, then recreate the moment a friend deletes it.
Gotta do it late at night or early in the morning lol
There is your problem… it can take a few seconds for the server to catch up with your delete character and free up the name. Those who try right away and then go crying to the forums could probably get the name if they just waited a few more seconds.
Unless you have Asmongold (lol)… I doubt anyone is sitting there spamming your name in hopes to catch you in the process of re-rolling it.

either choose a name that no one wants or suck it up and accept the risks
Remade mine at 2am. Practiced on a pserver first. Took a few seconds for each toon. Didn’t lose any names.

I think the deleted toon needs to be level 30+ to get the name locked to your account for 30 days. If the toon is below level 30, the name is released to everyone immediately.

You don’t need to autoclick to grab names easily. Spamming “enter” with a little bit of luck is probably good enough.
Sitting here this morning and realized I didn’t reserve my names. Logged on and got all 3. Such is life. Forgot to say, took the time to customize as well. There really is no rush at all.
I waited will it was 4am local to delete and remake mine and had no issues. I figured since im on Pagle and in EST that it would be the safest time.
Get a friend to reserve the name right as you delete the toon, then after your done customizing claim the toon right as your friend deletes it. Thats how i did all mine.
