You could always report speech; it’s just easier now.
The mature language filter was never an implicit license to use mature language. It’s like a bulletprrof vest - an additional layer of protection for those that choose to use it. Just because you see someone wearing one doesn’t mean you get to shoot them, it’s still against the rules to shoot people. Nor do you get to use the excuse “if you didn’t want to get shot, you should’ve been wearing your vest.”.
You will still face consequences for breaking the rules, whether or not additional optional protections are available.

and i don’t think it should be against the rules to swear. if someone is harassing you, by all means report away, but swearing should be allowed.
Just ignore the troll, one of the mods will be here eventually to clean the thread up.

I’m honestly hoping they pull it over to Customer Support so they can correct the misinformation and faulty assumptions of people that clearly just don’t seem to know any better.
It’s honestly a bit like dealing with sovereign citizens. They’re not going to learn or understand until they experience first-hand the consequences of their ignorance.

They’re allowed to regulate any speech they want if it’s against their TOS. First Amendment doesn’t apply to private companies and never will.

I don’t play sides. Nor does it have anything to do with the first amendment. Games used to be rated mature and has had war and genocide for years and years. It’s a video game. It’s being treated like a social media platform and that’s the problem.

It is pretty insane that you can get banned on this game which lets face it is in huge huge majority played by people who are at bare minimum i’d say 25 years old.
In other words grown adults.
A ban for a single curse word on a game where the average of the playerbase is probably mid 30’s is wild.
I don’t think you could get banned on roblox that easily lmao where that kind of draconian policing might actually be warranted.
having the entire player base act under elementary school rules just cause their might be teenagers on the game is definitely something.

Profanity has been against ToS since the start of WoW. Simply don’t use profanity in chat channels where someone is likely to report you, lest you get hit with a suspension. It’s been this ways since 2005.

Which is really funny because as many people have pointed out blizzard had their own characters that they themselves wrote use profanity in their own game.
Most iconically was garrosh in silverpine forest although modern blizzard has since eddited that out.
Multiple other characters like in starcraft or overwatch also use profanity.
So if it was such a sin then why did they comit it themselves.

PG-13 movies can contain some profanity including a single f bomb. Character dialog and story writing can contain it and still maintain its T for Teen rating.
Player to player chat is entirely different and must be moderated in a T for Teen game.
People have been getting banned for profanity since vanilla in 2004. I’m not sure why profanity is the hill to die on for some people.

I was just pointing out the glaring hypocrisy of blizzard drawing a red line at profanity while their own characters use it.
Cause some how there is a diference between a npc saying it and a player saying it. ??? The word is still the word.

personally i don’t like being told what i can and can’t say. i see it as a power game where some want to control others by limiting what they can say.

Where? Banning for profanity is a fairly new thing. At most people got a day chat ban, but that was only if you used extremely bad words. People where not getting banned for dropping F bombs and stuff.
So did you get a suspension for saying an adult word?
