Can't play after trying to reinstall battle net app

So I have been bypassing the battle.net launcher for a few weeks now because it wouldn’t update so I was playing the old style by just launching WOW the old school way. So tried that this morning and it was saying all of the realms were incompatible so I tried to uninstall / reinstall the battle.net app and now I get this error when I hit play

What did I mess up

I am having the exact same problem on the exact same day as you. I’ve almost never had an issue with WoW, and this is the first time the game has broken for me in many years. My issue was that WoW would not update and would not run. So I reinstalled the Battlenet app and I re-downloaded WoW. When I started I got a similar error log to you. Here it is:

Well I ended up installing WOW and Classic and reinstalled it . Seemed to work but had to reset up everything again

Getting the same long CAS issues and having trouble on laptop mac and desktop mac with the Whoops…BB8 error message and failed updates with the battle.net app. Guess i will try complete uninstall?

this just began happening to me yesterday (12/16/21). It worked fine in the morning prior to going to work, I returned home in the evening and then this error popped up whenever I pressed launched. I re-installed the launcher but it did not resolve it. I didn’t try a complete re-install but I guess I can this weekend >.<

Original issues started in November, was able to do workaround like OP but the incompatible realm issues started after Tuesday.

I don’t know if it makes a difference but I bought the Murloc back mog, which I downloaded already in-game, however on the BNET interface, it keeps telling me to “open my gift” and the Game Regions available to me are EU, TW and KR. I am in the US.

Yeah I am having the same issues after I had to uninstall and reinstall the battle.net app from a BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 error when trying to update WoW. Everything I have tried on the troubleshooting on the CAS issue has not worked.

nothing has worked for me so far. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall WoW itself and still have the error. This is the only game that is broken, Classic and every other blizzard game I got is running fine.

Tried uninstall curseforge or any other add on app. I am waiting to see if it will fully work. I can log on the game after clean install. But its only 10% atm.

No need to do that. Just move the /Interface folder to the desktop, do the update, then move /Interface back into the retail WoW folder. The problem is due to Agent scanning that folder when it has no business doing so. It then tries to modify the files, finds that it can’t (because it didn’t create the files), and throws up its digital hands.

The problem isn’t the addon updaters themselves, it’s literally anything being updated in /Interface. You could manually update an addon and would still have the same problem.
