I wonder if they are getting DDoSd again. That affects connections and is not something that Blizzard has any control over starting.

I finally was able to load into my character, but many of my settings had been reset to default for some reason.

I was having the same issue but finally was able to log in. I was getting W0W51900324 error. One time I got into the character selection screen and it just stayed on a black screen. I restarted a couple of times and nothing. Googled and found an old thread about the error that said something about memory usage. I opened task manager and found a program (Steam) that had about 7 instances trying to start that was hogging up resources. I closed those, restarted Bnet, and was finally able to log in. I’m not 100% sure it’s related, but I’m in now.
