It works for me, if you smelt Dark Iron Ore. You have to go into Black Rock Depths, go into the Trial of The Seven, do NOT engage them. Speak with Gloom’rel, he will offer up a chalice, with a quest, this will allow you to “earn” his favor, and he will teach you Dark Iron Smelting. Then you can smelt Dark Iron Ore in the Black Forge, this is just outside of the Molten Core, to the left there is a fire elemental near it. Hope this helps, I created a ticket for this, and the CS Agent told me this, very helpful, and it got me from 290 up to 300.
