Seriously how is it not clear? When you select the race, you can see the damn faction banners in the background and it is themed after either Stormwind or Orgimar. Hell even the race select buttons are outlined in blue or red?
Look just because you were in a hurry and forgot to do something we have been doing since day one in WoW doesn’t mean the “dev are bad at their jobs”. Just like I am not going to call you stupid for being in hurry and forgetting that this game has required you to pick a faction for 18 years now.
Strange, I made my first of two dragons and when I was on the create screen it never tried to default to one side or the other it stayed right in the middle like always does when making new alt.
If you do the intro quest they don’t specifically pick either side for any reason, they’re all in a rush and The Dark Talons just followed the Horde and the Ebon Scales just followed the Alliance.
They know nothing off of the Dragon Isles, nothing about the faction wars at all and Azurathel and Cindrethresh, respective leaders for the Dracthyr in Alliance and Horde are close friends. It’s nothing like the Pandarens who had reason to oppose a certain faction and that was why they chose sides. The Dracthyr didn’t really pick anything. We were just in a rush.
Well I agree that it is odd but the fact that you called out the devs because people forgot that you pick a faction while creating your character is childish, at best.
Again, you fail to read what I am responding to. It doesn’t matter what your “introduction” story arc is. Just because your faction can play either side doesn’t mean you get to. You have to pick Horde or Alliance, you are not neutral as a character.
The faction choice should be at the end of the zone.
I don’t specifically remembering clicking the right side. I saw a drac and clicked customize. Its a neutral race. It’s not clear when you look at it what’s selected anyway.
Their faction change is broken right now for this class.
I’m not the only one having this issue.

The entire zone can be played without knowing your faction until it’s too late.
Alliance has always been on the left and horde on the right. Not sure why it would suddenly be different. Just need to pay more attention. It should only take an hour now that you know how to do it. You can just breeze through it.
I can assess just fine on my own that Blizzard hasn’t been focusing on the Faction Wars as is. Did you see the recent cinematic trailer of a Dwarf and Troll happily having fun with Dragon Racing?
Doesn’t seem to me like there’s a real canon consequence lore-wise to pick either side really or that the faction wars really even matter. You’re talking about mechanics and built structure, I’m talking about two friends bonded like family from their home isles as Scalecommanders on opposing factions who are going to be confused as to why on Azeroth they would enact bloodshed against their pal just because of a mortals’ war.

I held back and went bought faction change at this point. But I guess we can just wait till they make faction change available for evokers anytime soon.
$30 is not bad price at least for me. But still, hope something like this works for you guys
How much more obvious can they make it than the left and right sides of your screen? One side is alliance and has humans, dwarfs, gnomes… The other side is Horde and has Orcs, Trolls etc. I’m not sure it can get more basic than that.
Pandas chose at the end of their ‘training’ scenario on the turtle. Yes. Now they are on the left and right sides of your screen. although I’m assuming that really doesn’t matter. I haven’t leveled one since MoP.
