Can't buff Ret "BuT uTiLiTy"

for sure, every raid in wrath with more than one boss moving forward has teleporters, besides TGoC obv. Was a really smart QoL for large size raids.

Nope.

I’m pretty sure rets are the best AoE/Cleave class by then, or at least close to it.

For the entirery of WoTLK rets were AoE specialists, the ICC band-aid was aimed at fixing that, although it still helped their ST damage massively.

Blizzard classic team is same disappointment as Ghostcrawler’s Woltk team as far balance and fixing issues. UH Morb abomination lasted for entire Naxx phase. As always “meme” subpar specs.

The original XT was never killed, and it was tuned substantially higher than the version we’re getting.

Solid argument against math.

Prenerf Ulduar can be a very significant step up in damage, one that might be insurmountable for some groups. So we probably wont leave those (prenerfs) in place the whole phase. We will probably have them go for some indeterminate amount of time and then give you notice and turn them (Prenerfs) off. We probably wont wait until TOGC comes out to do the nerfs.

They want to give the bleeding edge players a chance to flex but not lock everyone out of hard modes.

It is pretty stupid that Rets are this far the bottom of the barrel for DPS but no matter how hard people complain about it, Blizzard isn’t going to bring their damage to pre original nerfs in OG Wrath just due to how insanely imbalanced they would be in PvP.

lol

Don’t get mad at me because I know how to account for santified retribution

Oh man, embarrassing. This guy doesn’t get it! He doesn’t understand where he’s completely wrong, LOL!

I’m sorry, can you speak up? You’re too far down on the meters to hear.

Well yeah, I’m a Holy Paladin. This guy thinks I’m Ret!

Because you couldn’t hack the bottom of the meters, I know!

I outdpsed you by 300 DPS on Sartharion with my Blood DK this week.

You know you’ve won when you get the other person to pull up warcraftlogs.

Learn the game before wasting your time on math.

That seems counter intuitive to the new cutting edge achieves that specifically state killed yogg/alg before the next phase unlocks.

Also this person is looking at 30-40s fights with unholy snapshotting still being in and specifically at single target fights. Gluth/Maexna both have that pally binking 100’s but getting put in the dumpster because of gargoyles. This won’t happen anymore as we graduate from this joke of a tier into something that doesn’t die in 30s and isn’t entirely single target damage.

Once cleave is added the gap is way less.

Oh, is that all you’re trying to show off? So my math isn’t wrong? Great, glad we cleared that up.

Anyways, I’m very aware that arcane exists, but when someone tries to argue no utility is worth those levels of performance the math shows they’re objectively wrong about their statement. Ret paladins are absolutely worth it in a vacuum, but BM and Arcane both exist. BM is a non-factor, but Arcane pulled its weight for T7, largely in thanks due to ~1 minute kills. Come Ulduar we’re gonna see just how hard Arcane falls off for the average guild that has decent kill times and a lot more movement due to mechanics.

And even if the spec does manage to pull off staying somewhat slottable (especially if you are out a ret for the night) if arcanes are half as whiney as ret paladins are they won’t be willing to play the token arcane over fire for Ulduar.
