Can't beat the PTW, join them. A guide

You do realize only 3 guilds have cleared the raid on Mythic, and they’re still too tightly tuned to have a sandbag?

They aren’t advertising on group finder or LFG chat.

Yeah, I guess mine should be the poor man’s guide. No clue why anyone wants to play this anymore.

Scams, usually advertising bogus RMT sites with level 1 bot accounts.

They added a nice feature to easily report those and I suggest that everyone does.

yes they are. and yes i do realize. they all ask you to go to a website but ive seen it just look

edit to add - no i dont know if its legit or not but you dont have to have the whole thing on farm to offer people loot for money

The fact that they send you to a website is how you know it’s a scam.

yes, BUT you can buy that stuff with gold earned without purchases tho. That is the difference in Pay2win games and People selling carries. no matter how hard you try to twist it.

It gives you 3 more weeks to ask for dads credit card or to lvl characters in my poor kids guide.

yeah maybe. i cant remember the name of the site. i report them when i see them but they come back eventually

This is just some napkin, I sprinkled some heroic raids in there, but yea a lot more than 2 tokens if it is done today. Better wait couple weeks when more guilds are clearing mythic raids.

Through a lot of steps. Doesn’t seem like winning to me.
I feel like the p2w term is used to describe anything people just don’t agree with.

Like I used my gold to buy mats off the ah and then paid someone 10k to make me a 619 bis weapon and cloak is embellishments.

Wouldn’t this be pay to win? Even though I never used irl money. I still paid with gold. Didnt have to farm the materials or run dungeons or raids for bis items.
Thats why throwing around p2w willy nilly is dangerous because then it can start applying to completely unrelated things or gets stretched to encompass a lot of things.

Hey you were honest which gives you a +1 in my book. We can agree to disagree, that doesn’t mean I don’t care about your opinion

If you used it that broadly, then anything you buy with ingame currency is p2w.
The yak tmog mount is p2w. The tundra mammoth is p2w.
Buying recipes from an npc is p2w since you used gold and can turn mats into items to sell for profit.

Heck the example I used above about work orders.

Even in the end of a season, CE will be anywhere in the ballpark of 1-2 million gold and that’s just the last boss, not a full clear.

they use their brains. PAY2win is games that lock content and items behind cold hard cash. not in game currency but straight cash. Buying a wow token isn’t tech pay2win because you aren’t gaining an advantage or anyone else in game. People have sold carries since vanilla. if you want to complain about that or the token sure go ahead, but stop labeling it something it clearly isnt.

Everyone has their own definition of winning.

WoW is a game that cannot be won.

So the next best thing is getting Achievements, Mounts and the highest Item Level.

i can’t imagine the mindset that leads a person to think that by paying somebody else to carry them through content, they’ve “won” in any meaningful way.

Those would be internet farms in impoverished countries using labor that can’t do physical work.

Yea, gotta maximize the gains. There’s RMT in the background, the wow token gold that is given to them could be sold back for Real Money.

See above your post my definition of winning.

I’d still say if you could buy a full set of raid gear from the store for irl currency, that would be p2w.
Or a flask that you can use on cd that gives the same or more stats than alch crafted ones.
Or an example I used a few minutes ago. Imagine a pet that casts any missing raid buffs or gives a free battle rez.

All of those are pretty unfair advantage that you got by swiping your card.

For someone who enjoys transmog, the store is pay to win.

I get your definition, but there’s no such thing in WoW, so move on to the next closest definition of P2W.

As is what you did lol

I will make ptw simple. If you didn’t earn it through playing the game as intended and it can be bought with gold or real money, it is ptw.
