Devs change jobs and hands. They certainly did favor the Horde historically like they currently do for the Alliance.
Does this sound right for BfA:
Uldir - Horde. Obviously.
Dazar’alor - Doesn’t really apply. Both factions did their own parts.
Crucible of Storms - Horde. Sylvanas had the dagger afterwards in lore.
Eternal Palace - Both. Jaina and Lor’themar being side by side in the cinematic.
Ny’alotha - ?

Wow. I didn’t know that was the case and that’s extremely stupid. The Shattered Sun Offensive was made up of mostly Belves and Draenei, so if I was writing the ‘canon’ resolution I’d say the SSO did it in conjunction with ‘heroes of azeroth’ ie; the players.
Same with the Ashen Verdict for Arthas, Armies of Legionfall for Antorus, etc. I’m kind of shocked they did stuff like that. With Azshara for example both Lor’Themar and Jania are there, so saying they along with ‘champions of the Horde/Alliance’ beat up the sexy sea platter works fine.
