Cannot make purchases from Battle.net

Hello all,

I’ve been having numerous problems the past few days after trying to purchase Midnight. My original purchase failed hours after it seemed to have been authorized.

Following that I tried to purchase Midnight again with a different card but again it failed a few hours later.

Today I went to try with a card from a different bank and got hit with a message: “This account cannot make purchases from the Battle.net Shop.”

I have a ticket open with Blizzard, but it takes at least a day to get a response and the answers unfortunately seem to articles that are unfortunately unhelpful/unrelated. I’m at my wits end here.

Just to be clear I do not have any parental controls on my account, as that was suggested by some of the articles.

I’ve never had any issues prior to this with purchasing things from Blizzard. The card I used to purchase Midnight with originally was tied to my monthly subscription and has been for years which makes this puzzling why it would suddenly be an issue.

I’m thinking this has to be an issue on the Blizzard side, but any insight would be helpful.

Have you contacted your bank to see if they’re blocking your payment? That can often be the issue, especially if you make multiple attempts.

Since they don’t use AI, your responses have been templates chosen by human beings. It would be beneficial to know what they suggested and what you’ve tried, but you unfortunately didn’t include that info.

Could there be an issue on Blizzard’s end? Yes. I never rule that sort of thing out. But a GM is not going to be able to fix an issue like that if there is one.

If you’ve tried multiple browsers, wifi, cell phone, paypal and all of them are failing, then my gut is that it’s your bank blocking the charges. Do contact them and see what they say.

I cannot see why, but yes, this has triggered security flags.

Your ticket is open, they’ll be able to look into this further for you.

Yes, queues are longer than we’d like at the moment but you are in line soon as your ticket comes up.
