Wow…
Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips are WAY better than Nacho Cheese Doritos.

I /technically/ have room since not all of those are likely to be up at once, but I like to have few enough buffs that nothing EVER gets knocked off. Furor is a good example of this. Powershifting to drink a consume mid-fight is a risk if I don’t reserve a buff slot for it.
I don’t recognize this one.
Also I’d definitely drop Superior Defense for Smoked Desert Dumplings.
Use your elixirs before grabbing world buffs and let the priests use renew on you, enough with the madness. there are top guilds using HoTs in their speed runs
Most raids wont want you to HOT, unless it is a casual raid without stacked world buffs and flasks etc.
Use a moonglow build, max out imp HT
stack a ton of +heal, set up several ranks of downranked HT’s of appropriate size And then spam the bejeebers out of them, and it will be like an HOT and you will have plenty of mana to innervate the holys who burn up their mana
Questionable use of a buff slot compared to enabling a Swiftmend druid to instaheal you if needed.
I can understand this for the tanks, but what are the melee stacking that they can’t pick up a HoT? Alcohol buff?
Dragonslayer
WCB
ZG
Fengus
Moldar (optional)
Songflower
JJMight
JJPower
Mongoose
WF/Elemental SS(x2 if alli)
Blasted Lands (can’t stack them on classic)
Paw
Stam
Totems/blessings
Crusader(x2)
Battle Shout
Trueshot
Leader of the Pack (maybe)
Dumplings (forgot we have these now)
That’s like 22 buffs, there should be room for HoTs.
see the list above
When you Block, Dodge, or Parry an attack, you gain an invisible buff called Defensive State.
Eh. If I were going to drop defensives for offensives, I’d also be dropping Fortitude/Blood Pact for Well Fed and Juju Flurry.
Eh. I’d rather not have my elixirs pushed off. Or anything, for that matter, but certainly not something that costs me gold. Elixirs also only last an hour, so I’d be wasting a good portion of their duration while getting buffs. Add to that the world buffs last twice as long, so the world buffs end up being the one that gets pushed off eventually, anyway.
Although, by that time I’ll have Songflower gone, too, so… meh. But then I just eat food for Well Fed buff.
Not really. Guaranteed damage reduction on every swing vs a HoT that mostly does overhealing because the healers can’t be bothered to precast heals like they’re supposed to?
Even the guilds allowing HoTs have their tanks using Superior Defense.
Reading in the melee forums a while back where they were discussing other things that are not visible buffs that also take up space like talents and abilities and stuff like that you cant detect but also use these same spaces. dont know how true that is, but its been mentioned and could be why they are cautious about buff stacking certain things. I hear that some players have gone so far as to get new Tier 2 items helm / legs to eliminate those enchant slots so they can have more open buff slots. No not kidding, that’s a real practice apparently.
Imagine thinking any of that matters, lol.
lol, like how you left the second part out, getting booted from that guild is the best thing that could happen.
In general, HOTS are not effective healing in classic. SO, there is a good chance your guild knows what they’re talking about if they ask you not to use your hots. On some fights it’s alright, most fights it’s not. A geared druid is mostly useless compared to geared priests, shamans, or paladins. The only value to having a druid in the raid is innervate, battle rez, and mark of the wild. SO, more than one resto druid is entirely unnecessary.
Rank 4 Healing Touch and Remove Curse were basically the only two spells I ever cast raiding Resto in Vanilla. But don’t despair, as once you get the Naxx set bonus, you’ll be rolling Rank 1 Rejuvs on everyone to give them free mana/rage/energy ticks.
This is why I chose to be Feral this time around for Classic. I had enough of mundane Resto in Vaniller.
Trueshot aura? Furious HowL? Berserk stance? Bloodrage? Flurry? Moldar isnt optional. Protection pots? UBRS buff ? Flask ?Yes you can stack blasted lands buff. Just pop one and logout for an hour.
Head/leg enchant don’t count anymore, so it should help with buff limit.
3x blessings. Take off light and sanct cause they are useless.
If you are hotting a try hard dps warrior (which they should all be ) You will remove buffs. Most likely starting with ZG and DM buffs.
I get the class fantasy thing but hot’s are truely useless.
Yes you can stack blasted lands buff. Just pop one and logout for an hour.
Not true, have tried multiple times, the second always overrides the first.

You’re not on pservers, you can’t stack blasted lands buffs anymore; they overwrite each other. Even if I fill 6 more buff slots, that’s still 4 open. Point is that the melee still have a lot of wiggle room for buffs and so a rule to never HoT them is weird. Tanks are a different story.
as long as you use elixirs/food buff before they expire, they’ll keep their place on the “push off” prio list. you wanna min max, don’t skimp on the details, healers want to min max too. click off your food buff before enraging and you’ll be fine on any non-DMF week. stop being lazy
Even so, you’re missing pre patch Head/leg enchant. Berserker stance, FR buff, GFPP, Furious howl, flask, bloodrage. Where are you getting all these free hot slots from ?
Eh. If I were going to drop defensives for offensives, I’d also be dropping Fortitude/Blood Pact for Well Fed and Juju Flurry.
I mean… our EH isn’t exactly threatened right now if you actually have Flask, ZG buff, and DM buff and nothing else. But if I had to drop something defensive I’d drop Superior Defense over anything that’s Stamina related since Armor does reduce our Rage. 450 Armor that only gets multiplied by Inspiration is going to quickly become an unnecessary bonus once we have to start shedding Armor to avoid overcapping.
I’d swap out the Superior Defense and Blood Pact for Dumplings (well fed) and Juju Flurry. That way the Warlock can be swapped for another DPS. I’d also swap out the Paladin too unless you need a Resistance Aura. If all he’s giving you is Armor same thing applies to Superior Defense.
Imagine thinking any of that matters, lol.
15% Stamina matters a helluva lot, especially when your Tank is counting on that amount to sacrifice defense in other places for more DPS/TPS and still survive.
