Cannot enter game "you have been disconnected. (wow51900328)"

hallo all.

all of a sudden, since yesterday, cannot log into wow anymore. when trying to connect it stops for about 15 seconds at “logging into game server” then gives me the message “you have been disconnected (wow51900328)”.

already tried resetting interface, rebooting the modem and computer. am not using a router or firewall. have no anti-virus. tried to scan and repair. tried to update. can log into other games, just not WoW.

am in NY with Optimum isp.

Looks like lots of people are having problems with that ISP on Twitter.

I recommend reaching out to them. Since Blizzard doesn’t do one-on-one connection troubleshooting anymore, the ISP should always be your first call.

for some reason, can connect if tether my phone.
so there is that at least, although ping is a little high.

called Optimum, but they deny anything is going on their side. will try again later and hopefully get better support.

Your phone will use a different route than the internet on your computer, so that makes perfect sense. But essentially, you’ve proved there is a problem with Optimum.

everything is working today. wonder what that was about.

They probably realized the routing issue, either from customer reports or network monitoring, and made adjustments to fix it.
