You aren’t going to get quests to start the end game cata zones (Mt Hyjal, Deepholm, etc) because those are the endgame zones from Cata and you are too low level. Since Cata was an entire world revamp the original vanilla zones are the Cata starting zones. So yes, your Warboard would have had some quests for you to pick up.
