Cancelled 12 month sub over Fyra'lath

This game’s RNG loot is just atrocious in general. No bad luck protection, notta. The game isn’t fun and rewarding to play when you are constantly watching people win multiple rolls, having super rare stuff drop one their first run, while you are stuck watching low rolls or rolling a 99 only to lose to 100s time after time.

S2 - I have two mains, and one didn’t even get their BiS Weap at all, 107 M+ runs in attempt. My other received the LAST week.

Yeah, chance of loot is fun, but when extended periods go without anything, the fun is completely lost. Watching people quit as 20000 new ret palies pop-up due to crazy buffs, and now seeing friends quit as they’ve given up trying only to see all these low new players taking the leggos.

Now - the Great Vault - continuously getting stuff already wearing, week after week, unlock M track slots, only to get the same slots 5 weeks in a row… C’mon Blizz. Do some real coding, and not just RNG.

X-45 Heartbreaker on line 1.

I got mine.

I think the dev who made the questline really really loved Aion.

there was only one Tmog for it that would ever do.

If everyone has the legendary, is it even legendary? Blizz needs to redesign how legendaries work. Shadowlands and Legion made them essentially just a normal item, and RNG drops just leads to salty posts like these. The way they worked in Cata seemed like a happy medium, or Shadowmourne, where they’re easy to start, but you can’t just deck out everyone in it, as it requires drops that are limited. But they always drop. :man_shrugging:

Pug some mythic raid. Pretty free. Pugged the first three last Tuesday in just over an hour and looted I think three lesser embers per boss?

We’ll see. Been killing Fyrakk on my warrior, DK, and Paladin and still don’t have the leggo :man_shrugging:

It wouldn’t be this big of an issue if the specs that use Fyralath weren’t tuned around having Fyralath and at a disadvantage without it.
At the moment it’s less of a wow extra 8% dps boost! and more of a getting the legendary tax refunded to you.

The questline isn’t very long but it is tedious and costly so that’s your wall - just like it is with Shadowmourne or Val’anyr in WotLKC. You can knock it out in days and not a minimum of 4 weeks but that’s a different design paradigm - clearly Dragonflight legendaries aren’t meant to lean on being handed raid loot like those older ones.

Instead of BLP orbs Blizzard should have implemented it differently. Have Fyrakk drop shards using the same mechanic Fyralath rolls and BLP rolls use - the higher the difficulty the more shards + you get the shards you’d get in lower difficulties IF you didn’t run them this week. Then let’s say clearing Mythic only yields you 5 shards and you need 20 to get the quest item that starts the Fyralath quest line. So you kill the boss 4 times on Mythic and get the item, feels like enough of a wall to me given you’ll need more Heroic, Normal or LFR kills.
Meanwhile you can STILL just get the item at a very low drop %, and if you do and had shards stacked from previous kills they contribute by scaling down the questline. Say, you have 18 shards so now you don’t need 50 Taut Tethercoils but 10, you don’t need 200 shadowed dreamleaves but 20 and so on.

This way yes, everyone will eventually get the legendary item their specs are tuned around but they will put varying amounts of work into it and the time to get it will vary - if you’re lucky you’ll just step into LFR at ilvl 425 and yoink the item, if you’re not you’ll get it by the end of the season, many resets later… unless you do higher difficulties then it will take less and less time.

I settled for messing around on the Tournament Realm dual-wielding the axe (since it’s not unique and you can use two as Fury on TR, :joy:). I’ll just be happy if we can see any more drops at this point.

I just hope we get one or two on our dps. I got the first one and our holy pally that never plays ret got the second.

Week 11 of the axe being available. No drop for me yet.

To Recap: Week 13 of the season, week 11 for the axe available to the general public. Over 3 months of the season is gone.

11 kills (9 heroic) on my DK. Pugging 7 of those heroic kills since my guild stopped a while ago.

If people were getting lucky at even 2 kills, it makes me think the drop rate was around 1% because anything lower and I don’t think we’d have seen as much luck. I’ve seen plenty of people with the axe on my server at 3-4 kills. It makes me question how much BLP is pushing your chances. When do I stop getting punished for having bad luck exactly? Unlike people who have continued raid schedules, I don’t anymore. I’m ready to just buy a kill each week at this point so I can stop thinking about trying at least.

“I suffered for my drop so you must as well.”
I don’t care about my bad luck as much as this system needs to change for future legendary acquisition. This is anti-fun for those of us who have to put in an exceptional amount of effort to get something that is only a player power increase for a season. I log in, get my kill and then log out until next week. This isn’t how the game should be played.

People voicing their frustrations and opinions about a bad acquisition system, oh no! There is some real criticism in this thread that I think is valid.

if i don’t get mine next week, I’m cancelling my sub also. Whoever made this system, after the stupid fiasco of legion legendaries, should be fired or fined. what a awful system based on awful rng. Legendaries should be hard quests/crafting rewards available for everyone on the same day, not rng crap. The amount of disappointment i have for this company since the last 6 or so years doesn’t cease to increase, its almost comedic.

I totally agree with you, I already went this week again to kill Fyrakk and another superior ember… Blizzard how many times should I kill Fyrakk for the axe? 100 out of 100 times?? It is ridiculous that for so long they do not increase the probability of the ax falling while this supposed protection is of absolutely no use.

I just cancelled mine too so they might see the reason and at least check if the bad luck protection works as intended

But I will come back as soon as I dont have access to the game to keep trying.

Legendary just make people feel bad.

Who wants to bet that a majority of these “i’m unsubbing over legendary” posts are from people who swapped mains to a plate dps just for the legendary?

Yeh. OP’s first kill looks to be likely a boost, from the logs. Painfully poor Frost DK play to boot, overall.

Who cares if he was boosted? The axe didn’t drop after a lot of kills, boosted or not. That’s the issue.

The issue isnt OP is quitting, the issue is what causes a thread like this to even show up on the forums. It is because of the awful loot design that Blizzard made with this legendary.

it contains collecting rare items, it has built-in protection, it uses professions, it uses world events… it’s like everything we asked for.
