I just did it again to make sure there wasn’t some new bug introduced recently.
Basically, you just have to be >really< close to the orb that’s dropping. Like…right outside of its purple effect on the ground. Any further away and you most likely will get knocked off. If you’re at an odd angle, you’ll also get knocked off.
