Can we talk about the other problem with Delves?

I was hoping someone besides myself was complaining about Versatility being on nearly every piece of gear.

Vers is helpful in Delves. I’m fine with it. I’m not out to do other content, so it doesn’t matter if I don’t have my best secondaries. I’m not running M+ or anything that’s high end progression.

What I want is the fun of little stories, puzzles, mechanics that are silly or interesting. The stats on gear are irrelevant to my fun.

No we cannot

You enjoy your damage sponges as they remove all the interesting parts

I am having to skip all the pipe puzzles because I don’t have time to figure them out - puzzles aren’t fun if they get skipped because they aren’t easily figured out how to do them.

I think the pipe puzzle is bugged lol.

Everytime I activated one all I had to do was move one piece and boom that’s it. Seems like they removed the S1 puzzle too as well… smh.

Dunno what tier you doing but T9-T11 has been toned down coming from S1. Can breath easily knowing a Web Bolt won’t chunk me for 50% of my health anymore. :face_exhaling:

You have no idea how angry I was upon finding out they basically ruined all the spore delves

  • Bring back chasing sponge explosions
  • Bring back sponge explosions actually doing good damage
  • Bring back decaying candles/etc
  • Maybe squash the levels (M+ has the same issue currently)
  • The new bosses are not fun

That’s great for you. Just because they are Delves and they are beneath you. Some of us that are doing them solo are considering them progression. And the secondary stats matter.

As happy as I am to be largely rid of the spore mechanic, I wouldn’t be opposed to them adding other different mechanics for us to handle. Damage sponges alone really don’t feel that fun and engaging. As far as what mechanics they could add? I really don’t know. The sky’s the limit. From an engagement perspective, what we have now probably isn’t sustainable. I’d be fine with an overall difficulty increase if it removed the damage sponge aspect of it all.

OMG same! I miss my spores. :sob:

There are so many different ideas for fun things to use against mobs or for us, etc. that would make it interesting and work regardless of class or role.

They aren’t ā€œtruck-hittingā€ anymore than they were last season.

You are just under-geared.

I haven’t seen anything regarding new delves in 11.2, maybe get more stories themed around that patch. Roadmap doesn’t show anything at all for it next season.

They very much are. Underpin mobs can take half our health, even in lower tiers. I’m not the only one noticing this. It’s been brought up quite often.

Hopefully with more interesting things!

Yeah. I’ve been running them with healer Brann and with classes that can handle themselves well enough, but I can certainly see how the Underpin’s minions can really do some damage if people aren’t careful, or even if they are, especially at higher tiers.

They take large chunks of my pally’s HP away pretty easily sometimes and his gear isn’t exactly terrible (628-9) for tier 5s. Makes me glad I mainly use healer Brann, that’s for sure. He’s not always the most effective but he comes in clutch more often than not for me.

I’ll probably use healer Brann on my Pally, since I’ve got bubbles and whatnot. But getting charged by three Underpin mobs does not bode well on my Devoker. lol

Oh yeah, I don’t see that ending well. Some more tuning is clearly needed.

I think the problem is that we’re early in the season so numbers are off for a lot of people. I think once we’re a month to a month and a half in more people will have a better idea of where everything stands balance-wise.

This interests me. Now maybe I’ll actually DO the underwater ones. Tried Sinkhole once and was ā€œNope, never againā€. Candles and totems never bothered me once I learned to position them. Were there any changes to Skittering Breach?? That was another one I detested. :speak_no_evil::see_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

This thread isn’t really about damage. It’s about lack of mechanics replaced with boring damage sponges.

Some of the ones we’ve been talking about were the Mr. Delver mechanic in Sidestreet, adding things like fun puzzles, better scenario stories to add more depth and maybe finding things, using things better.

Void clouds to siphon and use against mobs to send them into a disorient that does some damage. Digging up little treasures to toss at mobs that CC them or damage them. Magnets that could slide you in a direction, but can be moved to negate that effect. Bombs that you can use against mobs with an aim or one type of bomb that can be kicked towards another bomb to create a dot on mobs.

The sorts of things that make Delves interesting and not just mindless kill fests. The sorts of things that can work for everyone, regardless of role or spec.
