I would bet money they were on point, being a specialist. Took them years to properly diagnose me, because psychiatrists thought the shaking of my head was a nervous tick when it actually turned out to be a treatable genetic disorder.
But, I do understand the wondering. Doctors are not created equally. That’s one thing I’ve learned through all this.

Well most of us are anti-social so there’s that, but most people aren’t going to interact with a random High-functioning Autist enough to determine whether that behavior is usual or not. Most of the time you can’t really tell until we open our mouths and say something which makes you go “what? Come again this time with LESS syllables?”.

I have autism and I find this post very immature.
See I was totally like that in my 20’s. Only had forced socialization via my far more social brother, and I tended to talk the way my science textbooks sounded, can’t tell how many times I was told “no one here understands you,” was mad awkward.
That might be part of the reason I took up slang as a hobby. Better the cool people think you’re too cool for them than think you’re a nerd I guess.
pokes abomination of a thread with a long stick
I was going to go into a long explanation of autistic people and how showing them in fiction shouldn’t be that hard and that I actually support seeing spectrum characters here and there but I’ll just not go into it.
This thread isn’t bringing up the spectrum in good faith.
I agree that representation is good.
Representation for the sake of representation is damaging.
Wouldn’t a somewhat socially awkward but intelligent person fit the bill more than a warrior? And if I’m being honest I don’t trust blizzard to do something like that correctly.
the somewhat socially awkward but intelligent warrior this would be a great title IG
Plus how exactly would this “help” people with Autism? We don’t need validation of our existences or recognition, we need jobs and stable lives where we’re allowed to succeed instead of being shoved aside by employers just cause we don’t smile or socialize easily and you won’t be dragging us off to the golf course as our new bosses…

Tell me this ,this character, sysmertra, been out since 2017 ,did it help anyone since then?
I’m just picturing a character like Judah. He’s great.

Nvm,I found out this is only a ploy.
It doesn’t need to help us…its just to show some love and support, jeez no reason to even hate autistic people some of us r really cool people , haha reeee
I don’t understand how you’d even represent it properly. It’s not something you can see on someone
Unless Blizzard makes a character with a big sign or blatantly states they’re autistic, how would you even know?

I explained this look at my 3rd reply
We definitely need more inclusion from all spectrums of life.
aren’t they’re all already? Just look at their actions and dialogues
